In the 2011 census, the suburb recorded a population of 1,765 persons, with a median age of 53 years.Woorim has a beach, a small shopping centre, and parklands adjoining the beach. Woorim is the location of the Bribie Island Research Centre, an aquaculture research facility. Erosion of the beach at Woorim is an ongoing issue with long term recession trends of the shoreline observed.     The Somerset Dam is a mass concrete gravity dam with a gated spillway across the Stanley River in Queensland, Australia. It is within the locality of Somerset Dam in the Somerset Region in South East Queensland. The main purpose of the dam is the supply of potable water for the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Logan City regions. Additionally, the dam provides for flood mitigation, recreation and for the generation of hydroelectricity. The impounded reservoir is called Lake Somerset. The dam, lake and surrounding village of Somerset are named in honour of Henry Plantagenet Somerset, a local grazier and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland who represented the seat of Stanley from 1904 until 1920.

    Curtis Island is an island that contains Curtis Island National Park. It is in Gladstone Region, Queensland, Australia, 474 kilometres northwest of Brisbane and 40 km southeast of Rockhampton. The island features coastal heaths, littoral rainforest, sand dunes and beach ridges and salt flats. The national park encompasses the Cape Capricorn headland. No facilities are provided for campers. Bush camping is permitted in three camp grounds. Southern parts of the island are being heavily developed for multiple coal seam gas export facilities including natural gas liquefaction plants.
