10. Gibb River Road
The Gibb River Road is an unsealed track in the Kimberley region of Australia. The road is a shortcut of several hundred kilometers between points linked by the Great Northern Highway, which makes a large detour in the south. Drivers will be rewarded with magnificent scenery of the surrounding wilderness, as well as a sense of isolation and solitude.

Western Australi has 96 National Parks. These special places present oodles of opportunities to go walkabout on the many waymarked trails, and camp in isolated sports.

7. Broome
Broome is an historical pearling town in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. A well developed tourist destination, it is popular with Australians in the dry season. Broome is on the Indian Ocean and the main beach, Cable Beach, is a beautiful expanse of golden sand. The sunsets on Cable Beach are magnificent and can be enjoyed on the beach or from one of the restaurants on the esplanade.
6. Karijini National Park
The park is most notable for its four prominent gorges marked by waterfalls and water holes. The park's wildlife includes red kangaroos, euros, wallaroos, echidnas, geckos, goannas, bats, legless lizards and a large variety of birds and snakes, including pythons.
5. Perth & Fremantle
Perth is the capital and largest city of Western Australia. Perth spreads out along on a flat coastal plain, dissected by the Swan River and it spreads over the Darling Scarp to the east and the Indian Ocean coastline to the west is the only real physical boundary. Despite its isolation, Perth is a surprisingly culturally diverse city.
4. Pinnacles Desert
The Pinnacles are limestone formations contained within Nambung National Park, near the town of Cervantes, Western Australia. The raw material for the limestone of the Pinnacles came from seashells in an earlier epoch rich in marine life. These shells were broken down into lime rich sands which were blown inland to form high mobile dunes.
3. Shark Bay & Monkey Mia
Shark Bay is a World Heritage Site, in Gascoyne, Western Australia. It is famous for its amazing sites, and for its dolphins. Shark Bay is centred on the towns of Monkey Mia and Debham and is made up of Francois Peron National Park, Dirk Hartog Island, Shell Beach, Shark Bay Marine Park, Hamelin Pool Marine Nature Reserve. It was given World Heritage status in 1991.

Margaret River is a coastal town south of Perth. It is renown for its wineries, food and surf beaches. It is located in the 'south west' and many features in the region are now tied into the name, Margaret River now is the common term for the region between The Capes - Cape Naturaliste in the north, and Cape Leeuwin in the south
1. Ningaloo Marine Park
Ningaloo Reef is located off the coast of the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. Although it is a beautifully untouched fringing reef, able to be snorkelled from shore at some points, the area is most famous for providing opportunities to snorkel with whale sharks (diving is available on the same trips, but not with the sharks).

Fruit Picking with Steve's Kitchen (Golden Grove)
Golden Grove Citrus Orchard is located 14km along the Chittering Road, north-east from Bullsbrook off Great Northern Highway, 60km from Perth.
The Orchard is situated amidst the undulating hills of the Chittering Valley, where high quality citrus is grown. It consists of over 13,000 trees, containing three varieties of Summer oranges(Valencia). These are best from August to May. During the hot weather January to March a green tinge is present on the skin. This does not affect the taste.
During the Winter and Spring (peak season for citrus harvest) there are six varieties of Navel oranges including a Red flesh navel. We have Seville oranges, great for marmalade, also a low acid orange that is very popular for tropical tastes and is non-allergic for people who cannot normally eat oranges.
Other citrus varieties include Lemons, Limes, Grapefruit (Red flesh) and we still grow white flesh grapefruit and the most popular crop Mandarins (several varieties). These crops are only available in Winter and Spring - June to October in Western Australia.

Donnybrook is a nice little town and is known for the Granny Smith Apple. They have some big thing apples around the town as we'll as a really good early saw mill display.

Pingelly - Western Australia (Updated)
Pingelly is a very attractive country town with a few interesting places to visit within 30 kilometres that are very worth while exploring. Situated 50 kilometres north of the large regional centre of Narrogin, Pingelly makes a good base for anyone interested in exploring the wheat belt.
Apologies for the hiccup on the vocal track. The correct place names that don't come out correctly are, Boyagin Rock, Mouambine and the Tutanning Reserve.
The caravan facility in town is quite small with only 8 powered sites. Some of these can be taken up with long term residents so usually only 4-5 are available. The amenities block is modern and clean which is more than can be said for some others north of here.

Riding into Hoquiam, Part 1, WA
Entering into the Town of Hoquiam on Highway 101 from its northern side. We are passing the 'Welcome to Hoquiam' sign at 0:32 on the right, then its eastbound onto Perry Street until the right hand turn at 1:18, from this point we are on to Lincoln Street heading south. The video ends in the vicinity of Lincoln Street and its junction of Emerson Avenue.

South West Western Australia on a budget
One of the worries about taking a holiday of a lifetime is that it is going to cost you the earth, but in south west Western Australia that needn't be the case.
This video gives some ideas to those who need to watch their wallets, for example:
Climb the Gloucester Tree
The Gloucester Tree is in the Gloucester National Park, a short drive from Pemberton which is three hours south of Perth.
It offers sensational views over the tall timber forests around Pemberton.
Once used as a fire lookout, today the 61 metre high Gloucester Tree is one of Pemberton's best loved tourism attractions -- and if you make it to the tree's lofty crown you're rewarded with a certificate to commemorate your feat, available from the Visitor Centre.
The karri is the tallest tree species in Western Australia and the third tallest in the world. It can grow up to 90 metres in height over a period of about 100 years.
The Gloucester Tree is part of a trilogy of Karri tree towers which are open to the public. The others include the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree and the Diamond Tree.
The Gloucester Tree was named after the Duke of Gloucester who visited in 1946.
Bibbulmun Track
The award-winning Bibbulmun Track is Western Australia's long-distance walk trail.
The world-class, 965 kilometre track stretches from Kalamunda to Albany, passing through the rustic townships of Dwellingup, Collie, Balingup, Pemberton, Northcliffe, Walpole and Denmark.
You can join - and depart - the track at any of these towns, and many other scenic spots such as Mundaring Weir, Beedelup Falls and the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, meaning you can tackle the trail for however long you please.
Take a short day stroll, or rest or replenish overnight in a luxury hotel or bed and breakfast along the way.
But to really put your tootsies to the test - and for a true wilderness adventure - hike the entire track and join the elite group of 'end-to-enders'.
It will take you around six to eight weeks and there are 48 natural timber and iron shelters to camp at along the way.
All ages are welcome, meaning the Bibbulmun Track is ideal for family adventure holidays.
The track takes in some of the most spectacular and untamed scenery in Western Australia, coiling through enchanting natural forests of Jarrah, Marri, Karri, Wandoo and Tingle.
The best time to walk the Bibbulmun Track is Autumn or Spring. If you pack a parka, you can also trek in winter, but avoid Summer - heat and bushfires can be hazardous.
Land based Whale Watching
Prepare to be mesmerized by these gentle giants as they make their way along the coast during migration.
In late April, they travel from the food-rich southern ocean to breeding grounds in the warm northern waters.
Then, in August, they return south to the cold seas to grow and mature.
There are many whale-watching cruises available as well as plenty of land-based lookouts.
In Western Australia you're most likely to spot a humpback, southern right or blue whale. The best time to observe these serene mammals is at midday, when the sun is directly overhead.
Albany is a haven for humpback and southern right whales, which mate and calve off the south coast.
From July to October whales can be spotted frolicking and playing in King George Sound, Albany.
This area is famous for its whaling heritage and is not uncommon to see whales playing only a few hundred metres from the station where they once were processed in vast numbers.
The old whaling station has now been transformed into a fascinating interactive whale museum.
Badgingarra - Western Australia
Badgingarra is little more than a roadhouse, caravan park and tavern. The name originates (as with many towns) with the Aboriginal people who named a small pool in a river about 5km out of town. The name is said to mean water by the manna gums. The name obviously came about before land clearing started as there appear to be precious few trees in the area today. The original spelling was Badjingarra.
In spring (August/September) the wildflowers grow in profusion in this area. Nature trails through the national parks attract visitors from all over. Farming did not reach the area until relatively recently so much of the large tracts of native wildflowers have remained undisturbed.
22km north west of the town is the Nyagarda Bird Park. It houses over 100 types of birds both domestic and imported. It also has a large shell collection. (Opening times: 9.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. seven days a week.)
South east of the town is the Waddi Emu Farm that breeds emus for the skin trade as well as planting and harvesting wildflowers. The farm has chalets and a caravan park as well as a swimming pool and restaurant.
In 1984 a nature trail was established and information on the trail can be obtained from the roadhouse. In 2013 the Badgingarra Natural Playground was opened next to the community centre.
In 2005 work began on the Emu Downs Wind Farm. The facility is made up of 48 wind turbines and it began producing power in 2006.
In 2010 a large bushfire damaged many farms and killed over 1,700 livestock. In 2012 the area suffered almost the opposite effect when 50mm of rain was dumped on the town in an hour and large falls of hail damaged crops.
