Time Lapse Drive: Metro Vancouver to Kelowna, British Columbia
August 3, 2018 - It's the B.C. Day long weekend and what could be more B.C. than vacating its largest city for one of its primary vacation hotspots, the beautiful Okanagan Valley!
Join me as I meander my way on Highway 91 and 17 to finally get onto the Trans-Canada Highway, exiting Metro Vancouver into the Fraser Valley, and then an impressively fast traversing of the Cascade Mountains and Thompson Plateau via the Coquhialla Highway and the Okanagan Connector (Highway 5 and 97C), making it to Kelowna just in time to party downtown on a Friday night.
The trip normally takes about 4 hours, but this time it took about 5 hours, with all of the traffic madness between Vancouver and Chilliwack. This is normal. If only a few more lanes were added to this most major of highways linking Vancouver to the rest of the interior (and the rest of Canada, for that matter).
