Texada Island is the largest island in the Strait of Georgia of British Columbia, Canada. Its northern tip is located about 8 kilometres southwest of the city of Powell River and west of the Sechelt Peninsula on the Sunshine Coast. A former mining and logging area, the island still has a few quarries and old logging roads. It is the largest of the Northern Gulf Islands at some 50 kilometres in length and 10 kilometres in width, with its length aligned along a northwest-southeast axis. This 300+ acre property is used as the park it should be by locals- fantastic quiet river channel and crystal clear pools make it an ideal and safe place to swim. The Nanaimo River starts it's journey to the sea (it joins the ocean at Living Forest!) by going through four lakes, which makes it the warmest river on Vancouver Island.

The property is still under timber lease to a logging company who has logged much of it in the past, but it sits dormant at the moment. What a great opportunity to buy out the timber lease and obtain protected forever park status!
