CHRISTMAS IN SAN ANTONIO (AND FLYING TO WACO, TX!) ✈
We spent the week of Christmas with Jason's family in San Antonio, TX. We had a pretty low key week but still got out for some adventuring! Our brother in law flew everyone to Waco, TX to explore Magnolia Silos (any Fixer Upper lovers out there??). We also ventured to the Japanese Tea Gardens and drove from TX to AZ in 3 days!

The Music Bed, LLC. (TMB) approves the use of Anticipation by Steven Gutheinz for Supreme Auction Sleepy Oaks
Old-world charm and modern-day luxury are perfectly married at Sleepy Oaks Chateau, a European-inspired stately grand manor located in the city of Hunters Creek Village, one of the five Memorial Villages just outside of Houston, Texas. The home may have been built in 2014, but its charm is centuries old.
Nestled on 1.1 acres of park-like grounds, on one of the very few “flag-shaped” lots in Hunters Creek, this 12,000+ square-foot residence includes all of the fine details one would expect in such a luxurious setting. Perfect for entertaining, Sleepy Oaks Chateau provides ample leisure area for guests, both indoors and out. The 125-foot driveway, bordered by statuesque trees, guides the way behind the wrought-iron gates flanked by stone-pillared walls to the residence beyond.
With Architectural drawings prepared by John Sullivan of Sullivan, Stevens and Henry Architects and custom designed and built by L-D Custom Homes, no expense was spared to eloquently appoint this magnificent residence, which includes intricate touches throughout. The journey begins with the breathtaking front exterior view of the home as you round past the serene three-tiered fountain in the circular driveway. The welcoming motor court provides generous space to gather and boasts parking for 15 as well as two double-extended garages for four more vehicles plus those extra ATVs and other recreational modes of transportation.
One of the many special features of this grand residence is the climate-controlled wine room located just off the kitchen. You’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a cellar in the heart of Europe’s wine country with the room’s stone walls, travertine floors, marble countertops, and groin vaulted ceiling with chandelier. Store up to 1,000 bottles of your favorite wines
This stately masterpiece features 7 bedrooms, 7 baths and 2 half baths across two floors, accessible by either the grand staircase or commercial-grade elevator. Incorporating the latest technology and security, Sleepy Oaks Chateau is a smart house, wired for sound throughout and ready to meet your commands via phone or tablet.
Water and light features showcase the pool, which rests below the custom raised hot tub with its own cascading stone waterfall.
Hunters Creek Village, Houston, Texas - An affluent suburb of Houston, Hunters Creek Village is part of a collection of upscale residential communities known as the Memorial Villages. In 2008, Forbes.com named the town, along with neighboring Bunker Hill Village and Sugar Land, as one of the three Houston-area “top suburbs to live well.”
Houston, just nine miles east, is the largest city in Texas, and is served by two international airports, George Bush Intercontinental and Houston Hobby. The city is a hub of education, healthcare, and industry. Nicknamed the “Space City,” Houston is home to NASA, recognized globally for its energy industry, and second only to New York for the number of Fortune 500 companies that are headquartered here.
The University of Houston, Texas Southern University, Rice University, and Houston Baptist are big draws for the area, and all are in Division I of the NCAA. If professional sports are more your style, the Texans, Astros, Dash, Dynamo, and Rockets bring out fans of major-league football, baseball, soccer, and basketball.
