Shattered Dreams Video AHS 2017
The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) Traffic Safety program is aimed at education, prevention, and outreach to reduce and eliminate traffic fatalities on Texas roadways. Shattered Dreams is a high-school based program that aims to educate teens about the risks of drinking and driving. The program is comprised of a mock-crash with student actors and additional activities during the day of the mock crash that share the experience, consequences, and statistics of impaired driving.
The TxDOT Amarillo District partnered with faculty at Amarillo High School and Amarillo first responders and other community partners to host the Shattered Dreams mock-crash. The TxDOT Amarillo District produced, directed, and edited a fictional account of this event with to create a visual impact for the entire student body, parents, and teachers. Please contact LaViza.Matthews@txdot.gov for additional information on how to start a Shattered Dreams program.
