Today all we are worried about is money flowing from our pocket and unless we are some millionaire we are very much concerned about the amount of money we spend on our daily living expenditure. No place on this earth can accommodate you if you do not have a nickel in your pocket, but there are places on this very earth which can let you stay for a little less money than the spotlight cities.
There is a famous place in the United States, called Texas, which is actually a paradise considering the cost of living there. The ‘Lone Star State’ as everyone calls it, is a place where you will get the whole country’s worth of weather packed in a mini-combo of one state at a cheap cost. The Texas is a large state in the southern U.S. which is separated from Mexico by the river the Rio Grande. A state which consists of 961 cities where 27,469,114 people live. Places of Interest Episode 1
Wichita Falls has many small businesses, museums, eateries and a lot of history throughout the downtown and surrounding area. Come along with us as we adventure in to the downtown area.
This is the first of a series of adventures we have planned. Today we ventured outside of the Railroad museum, which we plan to return to and go inside. Our time and their hours just did not cooperate today. But this should give you a small sample of what to expect. More information can be found at After adventuring around and getting several pictures of the downtown area, we went on over to the Wichita Falls Public Library where we were greeted by a very kind lady who graciously gave us a quick tour of the 50 Plus Zone which is located above the library. Check out the 50 Pus Zone here They offer plenty to do so one should never get bored. I’d like to stop here for a moment and mention the Wichita Falls Stroll-N-Roll event. It was being held the day of our visit. We only wish we would have known about it earlier in the day. Most everything that was opened for free to the public was closed or about to close by the time we found out about it. Things To Do Outside For Physically Limited Individuals in Wichita Falls TX
Find yourself looking for something to do outside that does not require you to be athletic? Take the express route down a stairwell and now can't get around very easily? That is the position I have found myself in recently. So it got me to thinking what can I do in Wichita Falls that is outside in nature?. So I got out recently just to see. Now what I have in this video probably is not all there is to do, but it was a start. If you know of something, be sure to leave it in the comments below.

Wichita is the largest city in the state of Kansas and the 48th-largest city in the United States. The estimated population of the Wichita metropolitan area is approximately 650,000. The city began as a trading post on the Chisholm Trail in the 1860s, and was incorporated in 1870. It subsequently became a key destination for cattle drives traveling north from Texas to access railroads, earning it the nickname Cowtown. In the 1920s and 1930s, businessmen and aeronautical engineers established a number of successful aircraft manufacturing companies in Wichita. Lloyd Stearman, Walter Beech, and Clyde Cessna established the Travel Air Manufacturing Company in Wichita in January 26, 1925. The city transformed into a hub of U.S. aircraft production and became known as The Air Capital of the World. Beechcraft, Cessna, (both now part of Textron Aviation) and other firms including Learjet, Airbus and Spirit AeroSystems continue to operate design and manufacturing facilities in Wichita today, and the city remains a major center of the U.S. aircraft industry.
We couldn't see everything in Wichita in 3 days, but we tried. We wanted to hit several outdoor spaces, so we hiked in 4 parks, Swanson Park, Air Capital Memorial Park, Pawnee Prairie Park, and the Great Plains Nature Center. We also got a chance to try some great restaurants and brew pubs while we were in town and attend Midwest Winefest. Each of those locations will be reviewed in other videos, so please stay tuned. We also got the opportunity to kayak in the Arkansas River. This was a new experience for us and was really fun. Look for this activity to be available to the public in Summer of 2019. I feature of the city is the Keeper of the Plains monument. It is a great space to be in and you can really feel the energy of the city there. Be sure to be there around 9pm for the lighting of the fire pots. We want to thank visitwichita.com for hosting us in Wichita.

Welcome to the Falls in Wichita Falls. In the mid 80’s a campaign was started, its slogan was “bring the falls back to Wichita Falls”. The campaign was successful, in 1989 the falls were brought back to Wichita Falls. Even though these falls are man-made, they are still a nice site to see. The original falls washed away in a flood back in the 1800’s. The falls are located along the Wichita River and is visible from the I-44 highway. The area surrounding the Falls offers several nice photo opportunities for its visitors. You can read more about the Falls on the Cities web site at
