Pictures from the drive out west:
This road trip was done in a 7-person RV. It was a lot of fun. We had a rough plan, but not as much planning as many would think. There were some hairy moments, like the small, washed out roads on the edge of a mountain leading to the village of Mogollon, New Mexico. Which is in the middle of nowhere. We saw elk, deer, foxes, rabbits, various birds and even a B52 bomber, flying low over Amarillo, Texas!
“It’s in those quiet little towns, at the edge of the world, that you will find the salt of the earth people who make you feel right at home.”
- Aaron Lauritsen - 100 Days Drive: The Great North American Road
The journey was amazing. The scenery changes from east to west. Oklahoma and Texas are interesting. Sometimes amazingly flat. We saw huge Jesus crosses and heard The Word of God. Set foot near ancient Indian cliff dwellings, pictographs and the even ancestral land of Geronimo himself. We climbed cliff faces and searched out natural hot springs along the Gila River in pristine wilderness. We’re told stories of mountain lion and bear attacks, which helps keep one alert on the trails. We even saw a car flip over, right in front of us on a 16-lane super highway in southern CA. Ahhh, California.
The Pacific Ocean. Surfing. Sun. California!
We saw UFOs. At the Prophecy Watchers 1st annual Blessed Hope conference in Norman, Oklahoma we learned about what a UFO and aliens really are. This was an eye-opener that would set the stage for the bulk of the trip through the Wild West. We cruised along the old Route 66 and on roads barely visible on the maps. America and certainly west of the mighty Mississippi, is filled with beauty. Blessed with amazing landscapes.
The Heavens Above - Out in the open western states, the stars literally light up the night sky. The Milky Way can be seen, snaking through the evening skies and other constellations seem to come to life.
We hope our family, friends and whomever views enjoy these images. It warped into a video documentary of sorts, of traveling across this wonderful land. America is a diverse country. The differences from East to West are noticeable, yet there is a common-thread. It is more than just the English language, which some say the Founding Fathers adopted. Dare I say, it’s one Nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

How Area 51 became the center of alien conspiracy theories
Area 51 has been the focal point of alien conspiracy theories in America for decades. The remote military base in the Nevada desert has a lot of history, and has been associated with aliens almost since its inception. Here's why

Nevada Test Site is where nuclear atmospheric tests were conducted during the 1950s and early 1960s.
Las Vegas experienced noticeable seismic effects, and the distant mushroom clouds, which could be seen from the downtown hotels, became tourist attractions.
The Nevada Test Site was the primary testing location of American nuclear devices from 1951 to 1992; 928 announced nuclear tests occurred there. Of those, 828 were underground. Sixty-two of the underground tests included multiple, simultaneous nuclear detonations, adding 93 detonations and bringing the total number of NTS nuclear detonations to 1,021, of which 921 were underground.
Each of the below ground explosions—some as deep as 5,000 feet—vaporized a large chamber, leaving a cavity filled with radioactive rubble. About a third of the tests were conducted directly in aquifers.
When testing ended in 1992, the Department of Energy estimated that more than 300 megacuries (11 EBq) of radioactivity remained in the environment at that time, making the site one of the most radioactively contaminated locations in the United States.
In the most seriously affected zones, the concentration of radioactivity in affected groundwater reaches millions of picocuries per liter. The federal standard for drinking water is 20 picocuries per liter. * Although radioactivity levels in the water continue to decline over time, the longer-lived isotopes could pose risks to workers or future settlers on the NNSS for tens of thousands of years.
On February 5, 1987, more than 400 people were arrested, when they tried to enter the nation's nuclear proving grounds after nearly 2,000 demonstrators held a rally to protest nuclear weapons testing. Those arrested included the astronomer Carl Sagan and the actors Kris Kristofferson, Martin Sheen, and Robert Blake.
St. George, Utah, received the brunt of the fallout of above-ground nuclear testing and marked increases in cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma, thyroid cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, bone cancer, brain tumors, and gastrointestinal tract cancers, were reported from the mid-1950s through 1980.
The United States Air Force facility commonly known as Area 51 is a remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base, within the Nevada Test and Training Range. According to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the correct names for the facility are Homey Airport (ICAO: KXTA) and Groom Lake.
The base's current primary purpose is publicly unknown; however, based on historical evidence, it most likely supports development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems. The intense secrecy surrounding the base has made it the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and a central component to unidentified flying object (UFO) folklore.
In July 2013, following a FOIA request filed in 2005, the CIA publicly acknowledged the existence of the base for the first time. Area 51 is located in the southern portion of Nevada in the western United States, 83 miles (134 km) north-northwest of Las Vegas. Area 51 and Nuclear Weapons Testing * From Wikipedia

Best Houston Wedding Venues: Butler's Courtyard in League City
Discover one of Houston's top wedding locations in League City: Butler's Courtyard.
The building was built in 1909. A great historic spot for brides who want an air of romance at their wedding.
When the bride comes in she’s our whole focus. We don’t believe in doing 2 or 3 weddings a day because we want to give this bride every attention and give her the day that she deserves.
When you first walk through the doors of Butler’s courtyard, you walk into the parlor. We will have someone greeting your guests at the door. They will take the gifts and put them inside the vault.
Then you walk on and see the main hall. The main hall is where the food is, the dance floor, the DJ… That is the main room.
We are an inside-outside facility, so the next thing we’ll walk through the door of the courtyard. There’s a really nice brick ledge around the three-tier fountain and that’s where everybody congregates. They love being outside.
Then you’re going to walk up into Rose Cottage. That’s a house that was built in 1920. It’s a humble oil field house moved here from Baytown. That’s the cottage the bride has for the whole day. She can come in from 10:00 on, have her hair and makeup and all her girls, have lunch brought in… It’s a really fun place to just prepare.
We also have our fun groom’s house. He’s got a big screen TV, a foosball table, leather couches… It’s wonderful. He gets to come in, also be there as early as he’d like to get his guys here. They can watch TV, bring their Xboxes, have lunch. It’s a fun place for them as well.
We feel that we’ve really captured everything they need in a day to have that wonderful experience and a life memory.

Amtrak Coast Starlight, in a Sleeper Car Bedroom
The overnight 14 Coast Starlight (Amtrak) from Los Angeles to Seattle.
--3 states
--1,377 miles
--36 hours
--29 stops (a few afford a chance for some fresh air, for a few minutes)
--incalculable jaw drops at the beauty seen from along the ocean coastline to the snowy mountain ranges and backdoor views of towns and cities.
I can't recommend this enough! What an experience! What a way to see the country! The whole ride was smooth, quiet, and tranquil. Whether you enjoy a book in the glass-domed car while sipping on some coffee, or nurse a beer through the passing majesty outside your window, you are rocked gently into a relaxation that is unlike any other. The staff was ever ready to accommodate needs and/or wants. Guest speakers rode along, regaling passengers with tales of the flora, fauna, and history of the areas. Fellow passengers were in equal states of awe and wonder, evidenced by the acknowledging head tilts complete with twinkling eyes and hearty grins. Childhood fancy was stirred together with an aged appreciation and I found that though we were moving northward, time had stood still.
Note: Yes...I have since learned to refrain from filming in portrait mode, when using a phone.
Royal Wedding-Themed Entry Featured in Key West Bed Race
The weekend after the royal wedding, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, ruled on Key West's famed Duval Street — while riding on a decorated bed on wheels during the madcap Conch Republic Red Ribbon Bed Race.
Actually Kate was Lucas Czajkowski (pronounced Cha-cow-ski), who impersonated the duchess by wearing a replica of the royal bride's blue engagement dress and waving regally to crowds as a quartet of brawny men with British flags painted on their bare chests and backs propelled the bed up the street.
Prince William, however, was nowhere to be found.
Billed as the most fun you can have in bed with your clothes on, the Saturday afternoon race featured 15 decorated beds, each piloted up Duval by four runners while a fifth person rode on the bed.
In addition to the royal ensemble, standout entries included beds decorated to resemble a giant chile pepper, a bull, a Super Mario castle and a super-sized cheeseburger.
The bed race was a highlight of the annual Conch Republic Independence Celebration. The 10-day festival, that ends Sunday, commemorates the 1982 day when the Florida Keys staged a secession from the United States following the installation of a U.S. Border Patrol blockade at the head of the island chain.
