THE BIG TEXAN STEAK RANCH, AMARILLO, TEXAS, USA
One of Amarillo's two major tourist attractions (the other one is Route 66, 6th Street), located right off I-40 on the north side.
Free to get inside and just visit, gift shop right on the left as soon as you got inside, restaurant is straight ahead and then you'll take it from there.
Visit and enjoy The Big Texan Steak Ranch, Amarillo, Texas, USA.
And never drink alcohol and then drive, or get high as well.
Stay safe.
The Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas on Route 66
A short tour around the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas on Historic Route 66.
Cadillac Ranch is a public art installation and sculpture in Amarillo, Texas, U.S. It was created in 1974 by Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels, who were a part of the art group Ant Farm, and it consists of what were (when originally installed during 1974) either older running used or junk Cadillac automobiles, representing a number of evolutions of the car line (most notably the birth and death of the defining feature of early Cadillacs; the tail fin) from 1949 to 1963, half-buried nose-first in the ground, at an angle corresponding to that of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The piece is a statement about the paradoxical simultaneous American fascinations with both a sense of place — and roadside attractions, such as The Ranch itself — and the mobility and freedom of the automobile.
We stopped off here during our three week tour of Route 66.
I plan on putting up over a 100 short videos from this trip so please subscribe to my channel.

Wonderland RV Park - Gifford House Pies - Capitol Reef - 30 Day Family RV Road Trip VLOG Day 17 Pt 1
Waking up in a great stop in Torrey Utah - Wonderland RV Park - and enjoying the lush green grass - something that I've missed from back home since we started our trip through the desert! We definitely could have stayed longer here.
Stopped in at the Gifford House for a sampling of their pies after finding a place to park our motorhome and run around in the toad car.
Finished up Jr Ranger badges at the Ripple Rock Nature Center, learned that we should have stopped here for fruit orchard maps yesterday, and enjoyed the drive out of Capitol Reef as we head out to Goblin Valley State Park next!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Off we go on our longest trip yet! Last year we took our new to us motorhome on a 2 week trip which set the stage for this 4 week family RV journey from the east coast towards New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado with a few points on the way out and back.
fun stops in New Mexico and Texas
These were three fun stops continuing Eastbound on I-40 (parts of old Route 66 too). By the way, casinos are a great place to camp, if you don't need hook-ups that night. They actually WANT you out there because they know darn well you'll eventually go in the casino and buy lunch or dinner, and probably put some $$ in the slot machines.
You'll also hear the owner of Route 66 MidPoint Café in Adrian, Texas speak about his fine establishment and its history. And you'll see the very-famous-cars-in-the-field-public-art just west of Amarillo (more information about Stanley Marsh and his Cadillac Ranch is at
More clips/images of my trip are coming, though my next clip will relate to (yet another) tornado that hit the mid-west. I'm now many states away from that, but am STILL dodging different kinds of weather -- if it's not a tornado, it's a hail storm or high winds or lightning or a tropical storm or flooding or patches of fog. This is spring, after all, so I should hardly be surprised about extreme weather.
