Colac is a small city in the Western District of Victoria, Australia, approximately 150 kilometres south-west of Melbourne on the southern shore of Lake Colac and the surrounding volcanic plains, approximately 40 kilometres inland from Bass Strait. Colac is the largest city in and administrative centre of the Colac Otway Shire. At June 2016, Colac had a population of 12,411.A commercial centre for a major agricultural district, it was named after nearby Lake Colac and was proclaimed a city in 1960.

Lake Colac, a freshwater lake of the Western District Lakes, is located north of the Colac town centre in Victoria, Australia. A yacht club and rowing club are located adjacent to the lake's shore. During the summer months, water skiers access to lake's facilities and many birds may be found of the lake's surface and in the area. The foreshore has a playground, boat ramp and the Colac Botanical Gardens. In January 2009, the lake dried up after years of drought, and the first time in 173 years.In April 2016 the lake dried up after several years of drought.

London Arch is an offshore natural arch formation in the Port Campbell National Park, Australia. The arch is a significant tourist attraction along the Great Ocean Road near Port Campbell in Victoria. This stack was formed by a gradual process of erosion, and until 1990 formed a complete double-span natural bridge. The span closer to the shoreline collapsed unexpectedly on 15 January 1990, leaving two tourists stranded on the outer span before being rescued by police helicopter. No one was injured in the event. Prior to the collapse, the arch was known as London Bridge because of its similarity to its namesake.

A small sheltered grove of Coast Redwoods, Sequoia sempervirens, can be found about 5 km south of Beech Forest in the Otway Ranges in southwestern Victoria. The trees, known by some as Californian Redwoods, were one of many conifer species planted experimentally at different locations in what was to become the fledgling Aire Valley Plantation. The trees, planted in 1936 by the Forests Commission Victoria, were initially slow to establish but have thrived and grown to a height of over 60 metres. Measurements in 2004 show the trees have the potential to reach as tall as their Californian counterparts if left undisturbed from bushfire, pests and disease, or trampling by tourism.The site has become a popular tourist destination in the Great Otway National Park and has also been classified as a...

Australia 2012 By Philip Rakusen

A short video showing highlights of Peta and my trip to Australia in 2012. In just over two short weeks we started in Sydney; took a boat to Manly Beach; hiked in The Blue Mountains; flew to Cairns; relaxed in the rainforest; imagined being Captain Cook at Cape Tribulation; snorkeled at The Great Barrier Reef; cuddled a koala and soaked up the sun in Palm Cove.

An amazing memory; we hope you enjoy watching.
