Dallas, Texas - Landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport HD (2016)
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (IATA: DFW, ICAO: KDFW, FAA LID: DFW) is the primary international airport serving the Dallas–Fort Worth area in the U.S. state of Texas. It is the largest hub for American Airlines, which is headquartered near the airport. In 2015, DFW served a record number 64,174,163 passengers.
It is the third busiest airport in the world by aircraft movements and the tenth busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic in 2015. It is the busiest airport in the State of Texas by both passenger enplanements and by aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings). It is the tenth busiest international gateway in the United States and second busiest in Texas (behind George Bush Intercontinental Airport). With nearly 900 daily flights, American Airlines at DFW is the second largest airline hub in the world and the United States, only behind Delta's Atlanta hub. Located roughly halfway between the major cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, DFW spills across portions of Dallas and Tarrant counties, and includes portions of the cities of Irving, Euless, Grapevine and Coppell. It has its own post office ZIP code and United States Postal Service city designation (DFW Airport, TX), as well as its own police, fire protection and emergency medical services. The members of the airport's board of directors are appointed by the owner cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, with a non-voting member chosen from the airport's four neighboring cities on a rotating basis.
As of October 2014, DFW Airport has service to a total of 207 destinations, including 58 international and 149 domestic destinations within the U.S. In surpassing 200+ total destinations, DFW joined a select group of airports worldwide with that distinction, including Frankfurt Airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Charles de Gaulle Airport, Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Chicago O'Hare International Airport, Munich Airport and Dubai International Airport.

American Eagle Landing at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
I'm always amazed at the vast scale of DFW. It's true, everything is bigger in Texas, especially the airports! While walking through the terminal, I saw a sign that said DFW is larger than Manhattan! Truly amazing!
Here's some information about DFW from Wikipedia:
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (IATA: DFW, ICAO: KDFW, FAA LID: DFW) is located between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, and is the busiest airport in the U.S. state of Texas.[1] It generally serves the larger Dallas--Fort Worth metropolitan area, with carriers providing regional, national and international flights.
With 652,261 aircraft movements in 2010, it is the fourth busiest airport in the world in terms of aircraft movements. In terms of passenger traffic, it is the eighth busiest airport in the world transporting 56,906,610 passengers in 2010. It is the main hub and largest hub for American Airlines, as American Airlines has its headquarters in Fort Worth. DFW Airport is considered to be an Airport City.
In terms of land area, at 18,076 acres (7,315 ha), it is the largest airport in Texas, and the second largest in the United States, behind Denver International Airport. It is the tenth busiest international gateway in the United States, and second in Texas, following Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
In 2006 the airport was named the Best Cargo Airport in the World according to the second edition of a survey.
The airport, within the incorporated cities of Coppell, Euless, Grapevine, and Irving, serves 145 domestic and 48 international destinations, and is the largest and primary hub for American Airlines, and also the primary hub for American Eagle.
The airport is often referred to by its IATA airport code, DFW. It is operated in many ways like a small city: it has its own post office, ZIP code, and public services. The United States Postal Service gave the airport its own city designation, DFW Airport, TX. The members of the airport's Board of Directors are appointed by the owner cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. The airport is inside the city limits of four suburban cities, a situation that has led to legal battles over jurisdiction (see below). To help ensure future harmony with its neighbors, the DFW Airport Board includes a non-voting member — a representative chosen from the airport's neighbors (Irving, Euless, Grapevine, and Coppell) on a rotating basis.
