Video Transcript:
Welcome to the 12 Apostles Lodge Walk
We’re here at the 12 Apostles lodge walk in Victoria, Australia
And it’s a really unique way to see the Great Ocean Walk
It’s not the Great Ocean Road, it is different the entire trail.
And you go and you walk along the coastal route
And you come back to this one lodge every single night
And it’s quite nice because it’s a boutique lodge with foot spas,
Very nice bedrooms and fantastic food
We have canopes every night before dinner
Look at this.
We’re out on the endurance trek this morning
And what a gorgeous morning,
We got to see the beautiful valleys here, different landscapes
And we got to see a bunch of kangaroos
It’s the perfect reason to head out early in the morning
Woohoo
We’re gonna save some muscles
They’re free!
Here we are, we’re about to go up 130 steps, the first major obstacle.
29,30,31
Great Ocean Walk, gotta do it
Yeah baby
Wow, now this is what I call a coastal walk
Well it took us 4 days of hiking to get here
But we made it , the 12 Apostles.
And it’s a spectacular day, the sun in shining and what a beautiful sight.
And one of the things that we’ve learned is, you don’t want to drive this road
You want to get out here and hike because when you drive you miss all these beautiful views
It’s truly spectacular.
I thought we’d be missing out by hiking it over of driving it
But no way
Hiking it is the way to go,
I highly recommend it.
And what a workout man
Oh yeah

Victoria, Australia | Great Ocean Road Trip and Grampians
Come explore Victoria, Australia with me! After a night going through Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne and hanging with Australia possums, we take off on a Great Ocean Road trip with Wildlife Tours Australia. The trip brings us to many Great Ocean Road beaches and beach towns along with the stunning 12 Apostles and to the adorable Kafe Koala where we are greeted by colorful birds and koalas. Day two of the tour had us exploring through the Grampians National Park and hanging out with kangaroos (including a kangaroo fight!).

Kennett River Holiday Park | Best Places to Stay on the Great Ocean Road Victoria Australia
Kennett River Holiday Park offers some great accommodation along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria Australia. If you want to set up a tent, caravan or motor home, this caravan park by Kennett River is a lovely spot to do it. It is right by the ocean. Across the road is the Kafe Koala a popular tourist spot on the Great Ocean Road as this is where you can feed the birds. The birds are really tame and will eat out of your hand. You can find king parrots and rosellas here. Great for taking selfies! The Koala walk at Kennett River (along The Grey River Rd) is perfect to spot to see koalas up close for photos. One of the best places in Australia to see koalas in the wild. An awesome experience and a must do when you come to Victoria. You will never forget it! Not to mention, nearby (walking distance) you can go kangaroo spotting.
Unpowered sites start from around $35 a night with powered sites from around $41. For cabins, the standard start from $120. There are a couple of cabins that face the ocean. Cabin 1, which I stayed at with a partial view of the ocean from the balcony started from $144. The cabin came with TV, kitchen, refrigerator, cooking facilities and microwave oven. The bathroom had shower with hot and cold water. You can book the rooms on the resorts own website, or have a look at TripAdvisor, Expedia, Wotif or hotel.com as shown.
The park has its own communal kitchen, shower block and some BBQs.
If you want to eat out. The nearest place is the Wye Beach Hotel for some pub meals. If you need more, the larger town of Lorne is around 30 minute driver away, or in the other direction Apollo Bay. Here you can find supermarkets, cafes, chemists and doctors.
Other things to do around Kennett River, is the river walk, a pleasant and peaceful walk. Or just head over to the beach and feel the fresh sea breezes. You can surf here at the point break. If you like waterfalls, there is Sheoak Falls that’s only a short drive away. Further afield is world-famous 12 Apostles (around a 2 hour drive) as well the beautiful scenery in the part of Victoria.
For me I loved my stay at Kennett River Holiday Park, if you are looking for a great place to stay on the Great Ocean Road you should consider this place. Great for families or couples. Feeding the birds and seeing the koalas in the park as well as on the Koala walk was one of the best experiences. If you are looking at some of the best things to do on the Great Ocean Road, this is one of the best.

It’s not the car we drive or the house we live in. We count our wealth in experiences and memories. The number of sunsets we’ve watched with best friends, the number of ancient landmarks we’ve visited, the number of times we’ve defied our comfort zone and done the extraordinary. Because we know you only get one life, one shot. So you better make it count.
