Providence Forge is an unincorporated community in New Kent County, Virginia, United States. It was one of the earliest settlements in the county and the site of a colonial iron forge that was destroyed by British General Banastre Tarleton during the American Revolutionary War. Nearby, the Chickahominy River separates New Kent from Charles City County. U.S. Route 60 and State Route 155 pass through Providence Forge. Colonial Parkway is a 23-mile scenic parkway linking the three points of Virginia's Historic Triangle, Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown. It is part of the National Park Service's Colonial National Historical Park. Virginia's official state designation for the parkway is State Route 90003. With portions built between 1930 and 1957, it links the three communities via a roadway shielded from views of commercial development. The roadway is toll-free, is free of semi trucks, and has speed limits of around 35 to 45 mph . As a National Scenic Byway and All-American Road , it is also popular with tourists due to the James River and York River ends of the parkway.

RV Road trip Part 2 - Williamsburg VA - Anvil campground - April 2016

This is the first leg of our spring break road trip from Rhode Island down to Williamsburg, Virginia. We traveled 1700+ miles on this trip in our 1984 Fleetwood Southwind. We stayed at Anvil Campground. The staff was very friendly and campground was clean. It is near the train tracks but that was pretty neat, the freight train is not something we see very often. Yes, as seen in the video, Paul is too tall for the RV - our next one will have a taller ceiling (he is 6 foot 7!). Look out for new videos coming soon!!
