Wodonga is a city on the Victorian side of the border with New South Wales, 300 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, Australia. It is located wholly within the boundaries of the City of Wodonga LGA. Its population is 39,351 as of the 2016 Census and is separated from its twin city in New South Wales, Albury, by the Murray River. Together, the two cities form an urban area with an estimated population of 92,218.

    The High Country Rail Trail is a 35 kilometre, part-gravel part-sealed rail trail on the northern border of Victoria, Australia. It runs along the former Cudgewa railway line from Wodonga, along the edge of Lake Hume, to a point just east of the Mitta Mitta River, including a 600-metre bridge over Sandy Creek Inlet. There are plans to eventually extend the trail as far as Cudgewa near Corryong.

The mountain is located approximately 357 kilometres north east of Melbourne, 746 kilometres from Sydney, and 997 kilometres from Adelaide by road. The nearest major road to mountain is the Great Alpine Road. The mountain is named after Charles Hotham, Governor of Victoria from 1854 to 1855. Mt Hotham's summit rises to an altitude of 1,862 metres AHD.Hotham Alpine Resort, a commercial ski resort, is located on the slopes of Mount Hotham and adjoining mountains.
