Lake Albert Caravan Park - Top Tourist Parks - Discover Downunder
Is life better at the lake? Brooke Hanson seeks to find out as she explores beautiful Lake Albert Caravan Park.
Home to one of the country's best sunsets, Lake Albert is an area that truly caters to all age groups. With activities such as fishing, bike riding and golf at the renowned Lake Albert Golf Club, its really no wonder that travellers continue to return to this part of the world year after year.
The locals will also tell you to check out the Cheese Factory Restaurant and Museum and the Meningie Hotel, famous for its Coorong Mullet with macadamia nut and lemon myrtle dressin. Yum!
Lake Albert Caravan Park offers a range of facilities including a great playground, a camp kitchen and BBQ area and immaculate laundry facilities all set right on the side of the lake.
And of course there are plenty of accommodation options including cabins and powered and unpowered sites.

I had a lovely Japanese Food Internet cafe in this caravan park, it was sold and the new owner promised me I could stay. However when he took over the management blatantly evicted me and most of my food and equipment got stolen.
Ngarkat Conservation Park - The one-way track.
Driving south on the South Australian, Victorian border, in the Ngarkat Conservation Park is a must for any 4 wheel-driver who enjoys sand driving, and doesn't mind the odd scratch on the paintwork. This, however, is a place to avoid if it's been wet, as it contains many clay sections, some may seem bottomless. But it's the sandy ridges which are the challenge here on the one-way section, we show only a small portion in this video, but this is typical of the track, these being possibly the worst ridges you will need to face.
Walkers Rocks Campground, SA
Beautiful beach front campground on the Eyre Peninsula, only 11km north of Elliston. $10/vehicle. Bins, toilet, and cold shower provided.
A sheltered section of coastline that's perfect for swimming (even for little ones) and quiet beaches to walk in both directions.
For self-sufficient campers, there is plenty of room other than the few spots near the amenities - head left before main area for a heap more space. Track is a little rocky so best to get out of the car and explore first.
Keep your campsite clean and keep food protected to avoid any trouble from mice.
