The other day, me and my cousin decided to go on a spontaneous roadtrip a few hours south-east of Perth, Western Australia.
We camped at Honeymoon Pool, a swimming spot and day use area by the Collie River. You’ll find it deep in the dense old-growth jarrah forest of Wellington National Park, down in the lower Collie River Valley along narrow winding roads.
We also visited Black Diamond Lake, a beautiful, crystal clear lake which was once an open cut coal mine. On a bright sunny day, it shines a vibrant blue colour.

Port Elliot is a town in South Australia toward the eastern end of the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula. It is situated on the sheltered Horseshoe Bay, a small bay off the much larger Encounter Bay.

Australian Steam Trains - Rx 207 & 621 Steam Ranger Grey Timetable 27/12/15
SHR locos Rx 207 and 621 are seen at various locations while in charge of their respective trains as part of the six trains a day timetable in the form of the Grey Timetable for summer time running on Sunday 27th of December 2015.
207s appearance was looked forward too by many on the day as it was her return to service day since overhaul which has taken nearly three years. The Rx is an favourite of many in the railway world as it has thrilled generations of children including myself.
The whistle on this fine locomotive is said to be one of the loudest whistles on any steam locomotive perhaps in Australia.
207 was built by the North British Locomotive Company in 1913 and has two sisters which are also preserved, Rx 93 which was one of six original R class engines to be built by the Dubs & Co. of Glasgow. Rx 224 which is being presently rebuilt at SHR workshops at Mount Barker and will be hopefully returning to service in 2016 or 2017 after nearly 25 years out of action!

A video of a trip to Port Lincoln in May 2009, visiting most of the places of interest in the surrounding area. On everyone's 'bucket list' should be to spend a night at Memory Cove and immerse yourself in the history of South Australia. The tour out to see the Tuna is also not to be missed, along with camping at Spalding Cove, a magical experience. This video is something very special to me, enjoy, a postcard from Port Lincoln.
