Top 10 Countries to Visit in 2016 | LONELY PLANET Best In Travel Summary

I know there are so many travel recommendations online, it’s often hard to tell which ones are reliable and up to date!
But, when LONELY PLANET, undoubtedly the best travel guide in the world, releases their yearly travel recommendations ‘Best In Travel 2016’, you can start booking your holidays without looking any further.
Best in Travel 2016 includes top 10 countries, top 10 cities and top 10 regions, with number one as the most ‘travelable’ place for the coming year.
For 2016, the number one place was honored to Botswana (Country, South Africa), Kotor (City, Montenegro) and Transylvania (Region, Romania).
Let me tell you the best things about this year's Best Countries as well as what my favorites are from the top ten list. Tomorrow, I will share with you the Best Cities and Thursday - Best Regions! Stay Tuned!
BEST COUNTRY TO TRAVEL IN 2016:
LONELY PLANET: Botswana
If you are anything like me, you are dying to discover Africa but have no idea which one of the countries to go to. You want to do a safari, see what locals really live like and see a National Park without getting mugged? Well, looks like Botswana could be our best bet. It does not only have a safe and stable economy, it is also one giant nature reserve with movie-like safaris and breath-taking river deltas (world famous the Okavango Delta).
Best time to go: May to August
Price: Not too bad, with a lot of airlines offering a return ticket for under $1500 from LAX.
AGGIE IN HER SHOES: Palau
I lived in 3 out of top 10 countries and so I feel like a bad mother choosing a favorite out of her kids. Probably that is why my vote goes to Palau, a country consisting of 250 islands just North of Papa New Guinea. The more I learn of Palau, the more I become intrigued. Even tough much further than Bora Bora, the flights are considerably less expensive (from $1400 return from LAX as opposed to $2200 to the French Polynesian getaway) and the convenience of the US dollar as the national currency and English as the official language is yet another plus (it is a presidential republic in free association with the US). It seems like Hawaii might have some serious competition, especially among savvy divers and snorkelers looking for a perfect dive in a place their friends have never even heard of! #theUltimateDestinationForTravelSnobs

Siberia (Sibir-Сиби́рь) is an extensive geographical region, and by the broadest definition is also known as North Asia. Siberia has historically been a part of Russia since the 16th and 17th centuries.
The territory of Siberia extends eastwards from the Ural Mountains to the watershed between the Pacific and Arctic drainage basins. The Yenisei River conditionally divides Siberia into five parts, Western and Eastern. Siberia stretches southwards from the Arctic Ocean to the hills of north-central Kazakhstan and to the national borders of Mongolia and China.[1] With an area of 13.1 million square kilometres (5,100,000 sq mi), Siberia accounts for 77% of Russia's land area, but it is home to just 40 million people—27% of the country's population. This is equivalent to an average population density of about 3 inhabitants per square kilometre (7.8/sq mi) (approximately equal to that of Australia), making Siberia one of the most sparsely populated regions on Earth. If it were a country by itself, it would still be the largest country in area, but in population it would be the world's 35th-largest and Asia's 14th-largest.
Worldwide, Siberia is well known primarily for its long, harsh winters, with a January average of −25 °C (−13 °F), as well as its extensive history of use by Russian and Soviet administrations as a place for prisons, labor camps, and exile.
Mining Gemstones with America's best gem & crystal miner: Frank Perham
I took this amatuer video at the Havey Quarry up in Maine. I am digging with Frank Perham, one of the greatest crystal miners in America. He is getting up there in age so it was a blessing to be able to dig alongside one of the greatest. He is looking for green tourmaline we just hit and to my left towards the end of the video is blue gemgrade tourmaline and to my right is apatite.

Today we walk in Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia in Germany. With a beautiful Old Town and the famous Krämerbrücke the city has a laid back vibe.
It was my first visit there on this winter day. I didn't know my way around so I missed the Town square on video, I'll have photos on the website later. We walk a bit around, some circles, see the Krämerbrücke from all sides. We end up at impressive cathedral and head up the hill with the Petersburg for a view over the city of Erfurt.
No vlog, no intrusive faces, no talking or cuts - just walking for over an hour.

Rafting down a 7 METER WATERFALL! || New Zealand adventures
Hello everyone~
Another New Zealand vlog! Still in Rotorua, where I go white water rafting and I hike up the old volcano Tarawera. We go down the highest commercially rafted waterfall, a 7 meter drop down the Tutea Falls. Absolutely awesome experiences and it made me miss New Zealand a lot! Editing was a breeze, had so much fun doing it!
