Schönenberg-Kübelberg is a former Verbandsgemeinde in the district of Kusel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. On 1 January 2017 it merged into the new Verbandsgemeinde Oberes Glantal. The seat of the Verbandsgemeinde was in Schönenberg-Kübelberg. The Verbandsgemeinde Schönenberg-Kübelberg consisted of the following Ortsgemeinden : Altenkirchen Brücken Dittweiler Frohnhofen Gries Ohmbach Schönenberg-Kübelberg

1. Burg Eltz Wierschem
Eltz Castle is a medieval castle nestled in the hills above the Moselle River between Koblenz and Trier, Germany. It is still owned by a branch of the same family that lived there in the 12th century, 33 generations ago. Bürresheim Castle , Eltz Castle and Lissingen Castle are the only castles on the left bank of the Rhine in Rhineland-Palatinate which have never been destroyed.

2. Marksburg Castle Braubach
The Marksburg is a castle above the town of Braubach in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is one of the principal sites of the Rhine Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortress was used for protection rather than as a residence for royal families. It has a striking example of a bergfried designed as a butter-churn tower. Of the 40 hill castles between Bingen am Rhein and Koblenz the Marksburg was the only one which was never destroyed.
