Duitsland - Bamberg, eens een Pausenstad
Bamberg, een fraaie en gezellige stad aan de rivier de Regnitz. De stad heeft de 2e wereldoorlog met relatief weinig verwoestingen doorstaan, hierdoor beschikt het over een fraai en groots bewaard gebleven historische binnenstad. Bamberg is gebouwd op 7 heuvelen en was eens de residentie van Paus Clemens II, vandaar Pausenstad. Buiten het feit dat de stad veel moois heeft te bieden, vindt je overal sfeervolle restaurants, Wein - und Bier stuben, gezellige terrasjes en Biergärten. Bamberg wordt weleens de bierstad van Duitsland genoemd, het kent een bijzonder speciaalbier, het Rauchbier. Today I visited a train graveyard full of locomotives from different eras. I'm not sure why they were hidden off in an area next to an military installation, but I was happy with the find.
