Washington State Wine and Lake Country - Woodmark Hotel - Travel in 10 Podcast
On this edition of the Travel in 10 Podcast we visit the Woodmark Hotel, by Destination Hotels & Resorts. It is located about 25 minutes from downtown Seattle, but feels like it is hours away with an upscale beach resort vibe.
It is located right on the shore of Lake Washington and has a wide variety of activities such as kayaking, jet skis, ski boats and stand up paddle boards all that can be rented just outside the hotel.
The rooms have recently been renovated and have a great water view. The hotel also has a number of great quirky amenities like their Raid the Pantry feature, essentially a free night-time extensive snack bar for guests in the lobby, or the hotel resident dog, a black lab you can take out for a jog on the lake.
Their signature restaurant Bin on the Lake features an extensive collection of regional wines, on tap, meaning you can sample a wide variety of high quality wines by the glass. They also have an excellent spa on site.
The location also make this an ideal jumping off point to explore some of the nearby wineries of Washington in nearby Woodinville or the galleries and shops in upscale Kirkland. We will be taking you to visit Chateau St. Michelle Winery and then finishing off the tour at the Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour.
This trip makes a great weekend away from Vancouver, BC, Victoria, BC or Portland, Oregon.
