Visit Snohomish County Washington
snohomish.org
Snohomish (sno-HOH'-mish) County is located in northwest Washington State, nestled between the sparkling blue waters of Puget Sound and the rugged, snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Mountains. Snohomish County begins 12 miles north of Seattle, a little under 100 miles south of Vancouver, and a short ferry ride away from the San Juan Islands or Olympic Peninsula. Snohomish County is ideally situated for exploring the entire Pacific Northwest.
We have some of the most spectacularly beautiful scenery in the United States, forest and mountain wildlife sanctuaries, unlimited opportunities for outdoor fun and artistic pursuits, and the best coffee west of Italy. Our economy is thriving thanks in large part to being the home of industry giant Boeing's 747, 767, 777 and 787 Dreamliner assembly plant.

Hip and buzzing Seattle is the cultural hub of the Pacific Northwest, with a setting that's hard to beat amid ocean, mountains and lakes. This laid-back west coast metropolis is jammed with cool cafés and bars, diverse museums, chic hotels and quirky neighbourhoods. It's also a gateway to the great outdoors, with a multitude of adventurous activities right on its doorstep.
Seattle is home to a cornucopia of terrific attractions, including a first-class art museum, a superb science centre, a waterfront aquarium, and the soaring Space Needle, with its jaw-dropping panoramic views of the startling beautiful scenery surrounding the city. In recent years, Seattle has continued to innovate and add to its plethora of sights: the eye-catching Frank Gehry-designed EMP Museum and vibrant glass sculptures of Chihuly Garden and Glass have boosted the Seattle Center's appeal; MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry) has opened in a new location at Lake Union Park, hugely increasing its exhibition space; and the Seattle Great Wheel whirls seaside lovers round and round on a downtown waterfront pier.
Exploring Seattle's neighbourhoods is part of the fun of visiting the Emerald City. There's Capitol Hill with its indie boutiques and hidden speakeasy bars, Ballard and its Scandinavian-infused historic streets, or funky Fremont, the self-dubbed 'centre of the universe'. Downtown's shiny skyscrapers rub shoulders with heritage buildings around Pioneer Square, home to the original settlers. The thriving International District is a bustling hub for Asians immigrants.
Natural beauty is a big part of Seattle's allure. For many visitors, the city is a stepping-off point for outdoor adventures. Seattle has numerous parks and trails coupled with enchanting waterways and small islands off the coast. The nearby Cascades and Olympic Mountains, including Washington's highest peak, Mt Rainier offer a spectacular setting for outdoor activities. In addition to hiking, mountain biking and skiing in winter, you can kayak or sail in the lakes and Puget Sound.
Seattle has a packed cultural calendar too. From cutting-edge contemporary and classical theatrical productions to folk, rock and opera performances, the city that brought the world grunge continues to set trends in the arts. Over 100,000 visitors attend Bumbershoot, North America's largest urban arts festival, which takes place each Labor Day weekend, attracting big-name international and local artists.
For culture of another kind, craft beer is a Pacific Northwest mainstay and microbreweries seem to open at an astonishing rate, with no signs of saturation in the market so far. During the annual Fremont Oktoberfest, beer lovers have the pick of over 100 ales. Craft distilleries are a burgeoning industry as well, producing gin, whisky and vodka on a small scale. And new to Seattle's microbooze scene in 2013 is the Seattle Cider Company, the first cidery in the city since Prohibition.
Seattle has also made a name for itself in the world of big business, with headquarters of international companies including Microsoft, Starbucks, Expedia and Amazon based in and around Seattle.
Phenomenal natural scenery and a font of creativity and innovation: no wonder Seattle has become such a compelling destination.

SW Washington's three most impactful off trail waterfalls
SW Washington has many impressive hidden gems. If I had to choose, these would be my top three favorite off trail waterfalls within this region. With that being said, I haven't seen them all, so you decide for yourself.
La Conner Washington Video Visit - Skagit County WA
La Conner WA is a great weekend getaway for residents of Northwest Washington. This small waterfront community is perhaps best known for the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year from all over Washington State and British Columbia.
The most recognizable structure in La Conner is the old Rainbow Bridge built in 1957. It has a special grace to it and has inspired countless paintings and attempted paintings.
Local residents include the Swinomish indians who have lived nearby for generations. They currently run a casino and lodge which is very popular with residents and tourists. If you are visiting La Conner, the Tulip Festival or just passing through to the Washington State Ferry Terminal in Anacortes, be sure to stop in to the Swinomish Casino at least for lunch, and their fuel station has really great prices on both gas and diesel fuel.
The casino complex also has a new high rise lodge/hotel and there's even an RV park on the property as well.

Puget Sound /ˈpjuːdʒɪt/ is a sound along the northwestern coast of the U.S. state of Washington, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean, and part of the Salish Sea. It is a complex estuarine[3] system of interconnected marine waterways and basins, with one major and two minor connections to the open Pacific Ocean via the Strait of Juan de Fuca—Admiralty Inlet being the major connection and Deception Pass and Swinomish Channel being the minor.
Water flow through Deception Pass is approximately equal to 2% of the total tidal exchange between Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.[1] Puget Sound extends approximately 100 miles (160 km) from Deception Pass in the north to Olympia, Washington in the south. Its average depth is 450 feet (140 m)[4] and its maximum depth, off Jefferson Point between Indianola and Kingston, is 930 feet (280 m). The depth of the main basin, between the southern tip of Whidbey Island and Tacoma, Washington, is approximately 600 feet (180 m)tourism,
