Prince William County is a county on the Potomac River in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 402,002, on 1 July 2015, the population was estimated to be 451,721, making it Virginia's second-most populous county. Its county seat is the independent city of Manassas.A part of Northern Virginia, Prince William County is part of the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2012 it had the seventh highest income of any county in the United States.

The National Museum of the Marine Corps is the historical museum of the United States Marine Corps. Located in Triangle, Virginia near MCB Quantico, the museum opened on November 10, 2006, and is now one of the top tourist attractions in the state, drawing over 500,000 people annually.In July 2013, the museum announced plans for a major expansion, to include sections on more modern Marine Corps history, such as the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing, a combat art gallery, and a war on terror gallery.

Potomac Mills is a shopping mall in Woodbridge, Virginia in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. It is located near Interstate 95 between Smoketown Road, Telegraph Road and the Prince William Parkway. In 1993 it was said to be the state's top tourist destination. The mall was the first in the Mills Corporation's chain of shopping malls, and has over 225 retailers and an 18-screen AMC movie theater. It was expanded in 1993, adding a wing anchored by Marshalls and JCPenney, along with a Burlington Coat Factory.Cohoes Fashions was also an early tenant. Manassas is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 37,821. The city borders Prince William County, and the independent city of Manassas Park, Virginia. The Bureau of Economic Analysis includes both Manassas and Manassas Park with Prince William County for statistical purposes. Manassas also serves as the seat of Prince William County. It surrounds the 38-acre county courthouse, but that county property is not part of the city. The City of Manassas has several important historic sites from the period 1850–1870. The City of Manassas is part of the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area and it is situated in the Northern Virginia region.

4. Leesylvania State Park Woodbridge
Leesylvania was a plantation and historic home in Prince William County, Virginia. It was the home of Henry Lee II and his wife Lucy Grymes. In addition to its prominent residents, the plantation was known at the time for its productive land and especially the quality of its tobacco. The Lees raised five boys and three girls at the home, most notably, Henry Light-Horse Harry Lee and Richard Bland Lee.Today, only a small portion of the foundation of the house remains and is part of Leesylvania State Park. The house and its path were completely bulldozed in the 1950s to make way for a road. Lee and his wife are buried on the property. The site and the cemetery are accessible by trail. The Leesylvania Archeological Site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge located where the Occoquan River meets the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Virginia, United States. The 644-acre site, about half of which is wetlands, was a popular tourist spot known as Dawson Beach until the 1940s, after which it was used for military research by the U.S. Army's Harry Diamond Laboratories from the 1960s to the 1990s. When the land was purchased from the military, it was temporarily called the Marumsco National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge was formally established and renamed in 1998, and is now managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as part of the Potomac River National Wildlife Refuge Complex.

The park is the largest protected natural area in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region at over 16,000 acres . Today, the park is a window into the past and serves as an example of what much of the East Coast once looked like centuries ago. The park serves as the largest example of Eastern Piedmont forest in the National Park System . The park also protects the Quantico Creek watershed. It is a sanctuary for numerous native plant and animal species.

My visit at Manassas National Battlefield Park, Virginia, on the 13th of September, 2015. I remember I had some problems in driving from one place to the another, due to the not so clear road signs but the place is fantastic.
The so called Manassas Campaign was a series of military engagements in the Eastern Theater of the American Civil War: Hoke's Run, Blackburn's Ford, First Bull Run (Manassas) and Second Bull Run (Manassas).
At First Bull Run (Manassas) Thomas Jonathan Jackson, Confederate Brigadier General, rose to prominence and earned his most famous nickname Stonewall. After the battle, Jackson was promoted to Major General.

Visita al Manassas National Battlefield Park, Virginia, il 13 settembre 2015. Mi ricordo che ho avuto qualche problema nel guidare da un posto all'altro del campo di battaglia, a causa dei segnali stradali non chiari, ma il posto è fantastico.
