Most haunted town in South Australia - Old Tailem Town - Channel 9 News
Where is the most haunted town in Australia?
Well Tailem Town would proudly be putting up it's hand and not just from 'say so' but from the amount of activity gathered over the last 6 years of investigating there.
Channel 9 News visited us to investigate these claims.
People are having problems finding this video so I am putting it up here for easy access.
Tailem Town is around 90 km South of Adelaide and although reputed to be haunted before we researched it... it has still been a challenging and unexpectedly VERY active location. Channel 9 approached us to see if we had any footage... we did but we only gave them the older stuff. We have more, we have better... but we only show it on the tours. Why? Because there is a fine line between scaring people off and bringing them!
This is just a small example from what has fast become known as the most haunted town in South Australia.
Tours run every Saturday with a 2hr Ghost Tour or a 4hr Ghost Hunt.
Haunted Horizons were named 'Best Tour Operator' in South Australia for 2015 in the S.A. Tourism Awards and finalist in the Australian Tourism Awards. That is something to be proud of... and it is a reassurance of a quality tour for you all :)
Ghost Tour - Old Tailem Town - ghostly scratches and footsteps?
adelaidehauntedhorizons.com.au
This was one of a handful of tours at Tailem Town that really stick out in our minds. The video doesn't show quite the impact of the sounds of someobdy coming in the Church but, when there it was pretty loud and clear as you can see from the reactions of the people. The scratches were also most unusual as we were witnessing the welts coming up as we watched. Again flash photography at night does not show them as clearly as we were seeing them.
Please note we are not claiming this is definitely paranormal we leave that for you to decide. It definitely went down in our very 'intriguing and curious books' though! lol

Here is video about our trip around our state - NSW. We travelled by car and stayed in campings, national parks and
state forests. During this time we saw lots of amazing views, wildlife and met many interesting local people.

Old Tailem Town. South Australia.
Old Tailem town pioneer village, South Australia (2011).
First established in 1982, Old Tailem Town is now Australia's largest pioneer village, visited by tourists all over the world!
Come for an hour or a day, have a cup of tea or coffee with the friendly staff and see what life was like for the settlers of South Australia from 1860 - 1960. There are over a hundred and ten buildings for you to visit, all furnished within their periods in their most natural locations. Many of the buildings were transported in one piece from their original locations, while others were taken apart plank by plank and rebuilt in Old Tailem Town. Most of the buildings are over one hundred years old and are the same in appearance as they were when they were first built. They are all furnished with original artifacts as if they were being lived in a century ago. Shops are stocked with original items, packets and hardware. The emporium is over one hundred and twenty feet long and has four different departments with flying fox, money exchanges and the picture theatre is one hundred years old and houses sixty-five year old working projectors and is fully functional as a theatre with seventy seats. We have a collection of antique speed-boats, dating from 1905, including the worlds first hydroplane, made by Thorney Croft and his first four cylinder engine, known as 'experimental one'. There is a huge stationary engine display, which is one of the biggest you'll ever see. We have a collection of antique fire engines with one of the biggest mobile ladders in the sourthern hemisphere. There are stables which house clydesdale horses. The railway has nineteen carriages and is over a kilometer long.
The town has thiry shops, catering for everything imaginable. The village is now at the stage where it's hard to think of what else to create in a town of its era.
Our oldest building is a ticket office from the first exhibition grounds in Adelaide and it dates from 1870, along with the school that dates from 1881. Most buildings were built before the turn of the twentieth century. Overseas visitors to the village are amazed that such a place exists! If you really want to see how the past was, this is the place to come and experience it!

Ghost and Paranormal Happenings at Tailem Town Ghost Tours
adelaidehauntedhorizons.com.au
Here's another video I threw together as a diary for one of the nights at Tailem Town. This is put together more for the people who attended on the night. This night appeared to be exceptionally active. It started with battery drainage on voice recorders, IR lights and even the camera itself, all at the same. It was followed by people getting touched, getting emotional and finally another person scratched in the Church.
PLEASE NOTE: What is put here is NOT being put forward as hard evidence that the paranormal exists. Adelaide's Haunted Horizons is not about scientifically researching but about giving people the opportunity to maybe experience something unusual and have fun at the same time.
Also PLEASE NOTE: This does not hapen like this all the time... this was one of the exceptional nights :)
