Acacia auriculiformis, commonly known as auri, earleaf acacia, earpod wattle, northern black wattle, Papuan wattle, and tan wattle, akashmoni in Bengali, is a fast-growing, crooked, gnarly tree in the family Fabaceae. It is native to Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. It grows up to 30m tall. Acacia auriculiformis has about 47 000 seeds/kg.

1. Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park Pearcedale
Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park is a 25-acre biopark within the Pearcedale Conservation Park located at Pearcedale on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Australia. It aims to display the fauna that was found in the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Biosphere Reserve prior to European settlement as well as working towards the recovery of threatened Australian fauna. The park is open all year except on Christmas Day. The sanctuary, as part of Pearcedale Conservation Park, is an institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association . It is ECO Certified at the Ecotourism level by Ecotourism Australia.

2. Point Nepean National Park Portsea
Point Nepean marks the southern point of The Rip and the most westerly point of the Mornington Peninsula, in Victoria, Australia. It was named in 1802 after the British politician and colonial administrator Sir Evan Nepean by John Murray in HMS Lady Nelson. Its coast and adjacent waters are included in the Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park, while its land area is part of the Point Nepean National Park. The point includes Cheviot Beach on its southern side, which was the site of both the wreck of the SS Cheviot in 1887 and the disappearance of Harold Holt in 1967.

Lloyd Botanical Garden Darjeeling India

The Botanical Garden in Darjeeling is named after William Lloyd who was the owner of the Lloyd's Bank during the British India days. He gave as a gift this sprawling 40 acres of area on an open hill slope for making one of the best gardens in Asia. The land was handed over to Sir Ashley Eden and the garden was established in 1878. Eden was then the secretary to the Government of Bengal.

There is a hospital Eden Sanatorium located just above the garden which is named after him. The Botanical Garden was laid out under the supervision of Sir Gorge King who was then the superintendent of the garden. It has been designed over three sections.

The upper section is where you will see the various indigenous Himalayan plantation. The garden actually started from here to study the flora of Darjeeling Himalayan region. Subsequently plants from nearby Sikkim area like rhododendrons have also been added in this section.

The Middle section is where there is a large collection of fern and conifer trees along with Alpine collections. There is also a separate greenhouse or a conservatory here that houses sections like the Cactus displaying some 150 species.

Another great attraction here is the Orchiderium that has some 2,500 orchids on display and showcasing some 50 varieties. Most of the orchids have been brought in from the Singalila National Park which is located on the way to Sandakphu and at a short distance from Tumling.

The lower section is full of colorful exotic plants that have been brought from various countries across the world. You will see some great plantations here like Hawthorn, Blackberry, Birch, Chestnut etc that have been imported from Europe, then Plums, Cherries, Weeping Willows etc from China and Japan, Magnolia Grandiflora, Jurrriferus Bermudiana from the U.S, Wattle and Silver Oak from Australia and New Zealand and lot more.

One of the striking of all is the Weeping Willow. It is so named because of its drooping branches and leaves that give a falling or a weeping impression. You can just keep gazing at this one for long.

Another unique thing here are the two living fossil trees that have been brought from China. You will see a tree Ginko Biloba of pre-historical time. There is a sanctuary created with old Himalayan Cherries. It's a place where you can relax and have a great peaceful time.

Darjeeling Botanical Garden

There is a Student's Section where you will find lots of Sikkim Himalayan plantation, and also a Medicinal Garden where you can see many different types of medicinal plants collected from the Eastern Himalayan Region.

There is also a Rock Garden in the Lloyd's Botanical Garden of Darjeeling.

Well As I said earlier that the entire garden area is laid out in three sections and on an open hill slope covering a large area. It's not easy to walk along the slopes that are sometimes quite steep. So wear comfortable shoes and do not carry bags or heavy stuff as you take the walk around the garden.

Timing
The Botanical Garden of Darjeeling is open from 6am to 5pm daily. It's open to all and there is no admission fee.

Location
The Botanical Gardens of Darjeeling is located just below the Eden Sanatorium (or the Saheed Durga Mall District Hospital). It is a walking distance from the taxi stand of Chowk Bazaar which is the main market center of Darjeeling at the lower level. You can approach it through the Victoria Road as well. Gumma Reserve Campground - Gumma (Macksville), NSW

The Gumma Reserve Campground sits on the banks of Warrell Creek and is a gorgeous little spot. You can fish and kayak on the water and Macksville is just 5 mins from the campground. The Star Hotel is a great old pub for a beer! There are flushing toilets, picnic tables and water available. Wood fired BBQ's and firepits. There is also a boat ramp and rubbish bins. Dogs are permitted here as long as they are kept on a leash.

Burwood Village Autumn Festival held on Sunday May 6th 2012 - The Burwood Village Autumn Festival has been and gone but the memories of this successful day will never been forgotten. The day was full of fun and festivities with fantastic acts, hairdresser Larry D'Alton stole the hearts of all who were watching, the students of crazy feet dance school were excellent and the SupaStar students sang like stars of the future. The Harmony Dudes, from Danny Stone Voice Productions, kicked started the program and then continued on to enthral patrons in Melton Avenue for most of the remainder of the day. Boroondara Brass completed proceedings with a class performance, showing they are deserved of the accolades they receive whenever they perform.
There was a 'Flash Mob' which surprised all when they started their dance in the middle of Myrniong Street and then surprised all again in Melton Avenue, thanks to the dance students from Deakin University for their efforts.
The street was decorated to make it look like a beautiful Autumn Wonderland. Masks styled on the artworks of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, an Italian painter known for creating imaginative portrait heads, made entirely of such objects as fruits, vegetables or flowers, were created by the talented students of Hartwell Primary school and were used to add colour to the stage and were on show for all to see.
Our Burwood Village Traders lined the streets of Toorak Road and showed how great they really are! In terms of fashion and beauty, Karmic Treasures had an 'in-store' stylist, Ulku had a beautician giving out free mini-makeovers. Food was abundant with Blue Galangal selling some yummy Thai dishes; Ambi in The Cake Shop, found in the arcade, offered for sale delicious home made samousas and free biscuits with every coffee ordered to name just a few of the special offerings.
As for the activities and 'things to do on the day' - where to begin! Many of the local community groups, schools, clubs and kindergartens bought their best in the way of mini-golf, choc-o-toss, raft building exercises, slime making, face painting by the Burwood Neighbourhood house and arts and crafts by some of our wonderful locals. The Scout group even organised 'Dunk the MP.' In our case, it was Graham Watt, he was a great sport about it all, with funds raised to be utilised to assist children from local scout groups to attend the jamboree which will be taking place later this year. Of course there was the cake stall by Wattle Park primary, popcorn by Alfred Road Kindergarten and biscuit decoration by St Benedict's along with Rowen Street kindergarten all making an impact on the event. The rides and games provided by smart amusement were a big hit with the kiddies, as was the mini tennis court as well.
Finally the Burwood Village Traders Association would like to thank everyone who was involved in celebrating our community and making the day absolutely unforgettable. A special mention of thanks must also be made, to all of the event sponsors, City of Boroondara, Bendigo Bank, Yarra Trams, Crazy Feet Dance Studio and Kwik Kopy Printing. Thank you also to all of the local residents and friends of the Burwood Village for sharing in the fun and festivities that made the Burwood Village Autumn Festival another great day out!
