This video shows our return trip through Koblenz after having visited a winery in Winningen. We are headed back from the Moselle to the Rhine and are heading for our ship, Viking Kara. Our Moselle wine tour guide is doing the talking. The date is June 30, 2016. Part 1 of the video of this title dealt with the outbound trip through Koblenz. This is the return trip.

The ruins of Thurant Castle (German: Burg Thurant, also Thurandt) stand on a wide hill spur made from slate above the villages of Alken on the Moselle in Germany. The castle is located within the county of Mayen-Koblenz in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate) and belongs to the spur castle type. Next to the castle which stands on a steep shoulder of the valley are vine gardens on the sunny side.
From the mid-13th century the archbishops of Cologne and Trier were joint owners of the site and had their respective property managed by burgraves. As a result, each half of the castle had its own bergfried, living and domestic buildings and a separate entrance.
From the early 16th century the double castle gradually fell into disrepair and was made a complete ruin during the destruction wrought by the War of the Palatine Succession. Robert Allmers (1872–1951) from Varel, co-found of the Hansa Automobil company and, from 1914, Director of Bremen's Hansa Lloyd factories, purchased the site in 1911 and had part of it rebuilt. The castle is still in private hands today, but may be visited from March to mid-November for a fee. According to the Heritage Monument Conservation Act of Rhineland-Palatinate, it is a protected monument which is incorporated into the state monument list.[1] The entire site has been declared a protected zone. In addition Thurant Castle is a protected cultural object under the Hague Convention and displays the blue and white protection signs.

The Niederburg is an urban district with narrow, winding streets and houses from the Middle Ages in the district of the old town of Konstanz on the left bank of the Rhine . The Niederburg is located south of the Seerhein and is framed by the Rheinsteig to the north, the Konzilstrasse to the east, the Paradies district to the west and the Münster cathedral on the south by the Konstanzer Münster.
The Niederburg below the residence of the bishop to the Seerhein was inhabited by craftsmen, fishermen and small merchants. Among them were servants who were liable to pay bishop. Furthermore, canons of the bishop lived here. Part of the buildings were destroyed during the city fire of 1355. The alleys are crooked, so that enemy fire could be stopped.
In the Brückengasse 1 is the former church St. Johann. Further in the Brückengasse are the Dominican convent Zoffingen from the 13th century and the Spitalkellerei Konstanz. West and peripheral in the Gerichtsgasse is the district court . East and peripherally the city theater Konstanz lies .
The houses from the Middle Ages are recognizable in the maze of alleys by their names and dates . The Rheingasse leads to the former Rhine bridge with the Rheintorturm. The Inselgasse connects with the Dominican island . The houses in Niederburggasse are from the 15th century. In Konradigasse 3 was the former cathedral school.
In Niederburg, restaurants and wine bars have been preserved in old walls. Furthermore, the Niederburg is a location for special crafts such as upholstery, violin making and lead glass window workshop. Specialty stores and retailers offer exquisite products.

This video shows you Room 16 in the Theis-Mühle Hotel restaurant in Biersdorf am See, Germany. This hotel has 25 rooms, no elevator available and the room numbers combined with the floors or sites, are still unclear to me. Food is excellent, there is a bakery inside as well, not only for breakfast, but also in the evening. Fresher fish cannot be found, they grow the trout in the back next to the summer terrace. Attention: Internet is very bad, and if you connect, they log all your credentials! Matrasses are a little buggy, the rooms have no safe nor air-conditioning, but my demands are not that high, so good enough for a couple of days to stay. Front door is often locked, certainly out of season, you must use your room key to open it. Inside, safety instructions are missing and fire stairs and routes are missing. Falling danger near the toilets in the rooms because of little ridge. Nature in the neighborhood is beautiful. If I forgot something, please add it as a comment.

Les matrasses sont un peu buggy, les chambres n'ont pas de coffre-fort ni d'air conditionné, mais mes demandes ne sont pas si élevées, si bon que vous resterez quelques jours. La porte avant est souvent verrouillée, certainement hors saison, vous devez utiliser la touche de votre pièce pour l'ouvrir. À l'intérieur, les consignes de sécurité sont manquantes et les escaliers d'incendie manquent. Coup de danger près des toilettes dans les pièces à cause de la petite crête. La nature dans le quartier est magnifique. Si j'ai oublié quelque chose, ajoutez-le comme commentaire.

The Moselle Viaduct (German: Moseltalbrücke) carries the Bundesautobahn 61 over a meander of the river Moselle, connecting the Hunsrück and Eifel mountain ranges. It was built between 1969 and 1972 between the German villages Winningen and Dieblich, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) southwest of Koblenz, where the river Moselle flows into the river Rhine.
Moselle Viaduct is also the name of the 1974 bridge where Bundesautobahn 1 between Wittlich and Trier crosses the river Moselle near Schweich.
