St. Augustine Historic Vacation
The nation's longest European settled and inhabited City was first established by the Spanish in 1565. It is also documented as the original First Thanksgiving. On September 8, 1565, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés and 800 Spanish settlers founded the city of St. Augustine in Spanish La Florida. As soon as they were ashore, the landing party celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving. Much sought after battle ground city for the English and Spanish forces. Caroline decided one of the best ways to explore the city would be to rent a boat and take a tour.

Das Kloster Hirsau war ein Benediktinerkloster in Hirsau im Nordschwarzwald. Meist meint man damit die Anlage St. Peter und Paul. Im weiteren Sinn umfasst die Bezeichnung jedoch auch deren Vorläufer.
Hirsau (vormals auch Hirschau) war zeitweise eines der bedeutendsten Klöster Deutschlands. Es diente der cluniazensischen Reformbewegung sehr früh als deutscher Stützpunkt. Von hier ging eine Reihe von Klostergründungen aus, aber auch die Erneuerung bestehender Gemeinschaften nach der sogenannten Hirsauer Reform. Zum Zeitpunkt seiner Errichtung im späten 11. Jahrhundert war St. Peter und Paul das baulich größte Kloster im deutschsprachigen Raum. Während des Pfälzischen Erbfolgekriegs brannte die Anlage 1692 aus und verfiel dann.

Hirsau Abbey, formerly known as Hirschau Abbey, was once one of the most important Benedictine abbeys of Germany. It is located in the Hirsau borough of Calw on the northern slopes of the Black Forest mountain range, in the present-day state of Baden-Württemberg. In the 11th and 12th century, the monastery was a centre of the Cluniac Reforms, implemented as Hirsau Reforms in the German lands. The complex was devastated during the War of the Palatine Succession in 1692 and not rebuilt.

Berlin Day 1! Shorter than usual video today, but good first day in Berlin, Germany. We went on a walking tour, saw a bunch of sights, and I got to relax for a little.

Italy 2017 (Liguria - Savona - Villagio Colombo)
Me and my son had a blast, great week spending time together in Liguria. We visited some great places like the caves of Borgio Verezzi, Bar Luce in Andora and afcourse the lovely beach. We'll def. be back. This is the first time we visited Italy and we enjoyed it alot. We rented a bungalow at Villagio Colombo and it was situated at a hill on the park with a great view near the sea and the village. We travelled with my car through Holland, Germany, Switzerland and the northern part of Italy, from Milano to the area around Genua. Waiting for 2 hours in the sun at the Gothard tunnel wasn't a pleasure, but other than that we had a great trip without any problems. We stopped near Hockenheim and we enjoyed driving through the Alps and watching the turqoise colored lakes next to the snowy mountain tops along the way.
Italy itself has some great historic looking towns and villages and very lovely people. But the traffic is nuts. The area of Liguria is beautiful, has some great nature and nice beaches. We enjoyed alot of Italian coffee and icecreams. The camping was fun but we missed a good swimming pool. Still we look back at a great week.

Гуляя по Старой части Мюнхена, мы наткнулись на памятник композитору Орландо ди Лассо на Променадеплац.
Памятник ди Лассо стоял на бульваре возле роскошного отеля Байеришер Хоф, где некогда, будучи на гастролях, останавливался Джексон. А когда в июне 2009 г. случилось страшное, его многочисленные мюнхенские поклонники выбрали именно это место для выражения своей скорби и любви.
Карловы ворота — городские ворота в Мюнхене, наряду с Зендлингскими воротами и Изарскими воротами одни из трех сохранившихся ворот второй линии укреплений города. Ворота были построены в период с 1285 года по 1347 год в рамках строительства второй крепостной стены города и впервые упоминаются в 1302 году как Нойхаузские ворота.
Новая ратуша.
Здание в Мюнхен, в северной части площади Мариенплац, предназначенное для работы городских властей: Обербургомистра, Городского совета, городского управления. Новая ратуша была построена в 1867-1908 годах под руководством Георга фон Хауберриссера.

Самый старый храм Мюнхена. Строительство началось в XI веке на месте старой деревянной церкви на холме Петерсбергль. В 1181 году Оттон I Виттельсбах приказал расширить эту церковь, построенную в романском стиле, и потом она была освящена епископом Отто фон Фризингом.

Самый высокий собор в Мюнхене, ставший символом города. Фрауэнкирхе является кафедральным собором католической архиепархии Мюнхена и Фрайзинга.
Хофбройхаус.
Известный во всём мире большой пивной ресторан с пивным садом, расположенный в Мюнхене на площади Плацль, недалеко от центральной площади города Мариенплац. Открылся в качестве придворной пивоварни баварских герцогов в 1607 году.
