Riding the Rail from Lüneburg Germany to Bleckede, 2015 REI Toy Fair Tour
REYNAULDS.COM present a nice video and a most enjoyable train excursion from Lüneburg Germany to Bleckede. During our stay in Hamburg we got the opportunity to meet with the Bleckede Kleinbahn Club, this was made possible by our repair guy Leif who is a member of this club. We took a modern double decker Metronom train from Hamburg to Luneburg where we were picked
up by three of the club members. After visiting their locomotive shed we boarded our train which was specially arranged for our tour. The train consisted of an old class 230 41 diesel locomotive with drive rods and a salon car. In the salon car they served us tea, coffee and hot spiced wine and also hot sausages, now that's how to travel. What a great day!
After getting clearance from the Lüneburg signal tower we cut across the Lüneburg freight yard till we reached the club’s private tracks. Since we were riding on private tracks we had many opportunities to stop and film the train, we even filmed a few drive byes. After about an hour we reached Bleckede where we had the rare opportunity to get a guided tour through the repair and maintenance facility. The maintenance facility repairs all different kind of locomotives. They even have a manual turntable where our guys had the chance to turn our little diesel loco around.
The engineer of the The little class 230 41 diesel not only operates the diesel he is the the owner of this little jewel. He completely restored this locomotive, he spent countless hours and the result is superb. The class 230 41 is a GEM. We had a lot of fun on this excursion which is expressed through the song sounded off by the group – “I’ve been working on the railroad”.
We want to thank Leif and all our friends at the Bleckede Kleinbahn Club for there hospitality and for all the arrangements. The train ride was most memorable!! If your ever traveling in Northern Germany please visit our friends at the Bleckede Kleinbahn Club and don't forget the visit their website

Bike
Story of a pedal stroke in sauerkraut in our German neighbors!
Germany is one of the most bikerphilic countries in the world and yet unknown to French cyclists.
The Elberadweg (way of the Elbe) was elected for the 13th consecutive German favorite track (according to the ADFC, 2017), it is mostly a real bike path, in very Good condition and flat. Ideal for families ... and for smokers. Geoffrey, my cycling partner is more used to holding a cigarette than a handlebar. With a BAC -6 in sport we had to find an easy destination! :)
In short we celebrate our 10 years of friendship, still hosted in Couchsurfing / Warmshowers!
DAS NEUE RATHAUS IN HANNOVER AM 12. JULI 2014
Juli 2014.
The New Town Hall (German: Neues Rathaus) or New City Hall in Hanover, Germany, is a city hall and was opened on July 20, 1913, after having been under construction for 12 years. It is a magnificent, castle-like building of the era of Wilhelm II in eclectic style at the southern edge of the inner city (outside of the historic city centre of Hanover). The building is embedded in the 10 hectare Maschpark. Here filmed at 6:11 P.M. on July 12, 2014.
During World War II, the building was heavily damaged during American bomb raids on the inner city of Hanover. The German state of Niedersachsen was proclaimed in 1946 in the 38 m high hall of the New Town Hall.
The dome of the New Town Hall, with its observation platform, is nearly 100 m high. The dome's lift is unique in Europe, with its arched course (parabolic, following the shape of the dome). It is often incorrectly described as a sloping lift up the dome and compared with the lifts in the Eiffel Tower, which actually only travel diagonally, without changing their angle of inclination. The lift climbs the 50 m shaft at an angle of up to 17° to the gallery of the dome, where the Harz mountain range can be seen when visibility is good. In the process, the lift moves over 10 m. During the trip, the two weight-bearing cables wind up on three double rolls in the wall of the shaft.
Nowy Ratusz w Hanowerze, stolicy kraju związkowego Dolnej Saksonii w północnych Niemczech (po niemiecku: Neues Rathaus albo Das Neue Rathaus). Ratusz został otworzony 20 lipca 1913 roku po 12 latach budowy. To wspaniała budowla, przypominająca zamek, z epoki ostatniego cesarza Niemiec (Kaiser) i Króla Prus Wilhelma II, zbudowana w stylu eklektycznym.
Tutaj Nowy Ratusz został przeze mnie sfilmowany w parku Maschpark o 18:11 12 lipca 2014.
