2. The Port of Hamburg: The Gateway to Germany
3. Kunsthalle Hamburg - Really impressive building on the outside. Both old masters and modern art here.
4. Hamburg Rathaus (City Hall) - Architecturally, what an amazing building! It's amazing to look at the interior design of the Rathaus and it's depiction of the historical times of the Hanseatic city.
5. St. Michael's Church - Beautiful views of Hamburg from the tower. 453 steps to get to the top. Each of them worth it to enjoy a nice view over the port of Hamburg and the city. If you don't like the stairs you can take the lift, but you won't see the inside of the tower and the big clockwork.
6. Ohlsdorf Cemetery - Wow, what a huge graveyard. You can drive thru it. Even a busline is driving around.
7. Great Lakes: Inner and Outer Alster - A central part of Hamburg city life.
8. Museum of Arts and Crafts - Great place. The building is a minimalistic piece of art itself.
9. International Maritime Museum - Extremely interesting museum with 9 floors (or decks) to see with artifacts ranging from ancient remnants of simple canoes to the replicas of the most modern engines. The museum uses different media to tell the story of the maritime science. They also have a stunning collection of maritime art and renowned artists, like Aywazovsky. A must-see in Hamburg.
10. Planten un Blomen Park - an urban park with a size of 47 hectares (116.1 acres) in the inner-city of Hamburg, Germany.
11. The Hamburg Museum - Wonderful museum with great exhibitions displaying the long history of Hamburg. Could have spent hours more there. Only slightly lacking in 20th century - and particularly WWII - history, but earlier periods exquisitely covered. Model railway on 2nd floor probably mainly interesting to enthusiasts.
12. Museum of Ethnology - Very cool and interesting museum! Nice exhibitions from various cultures around the world and from different time periods.
13. Altona - the westernmost urban borough (Bezirk) of the German city state of Hamburg
14. Museumshafen Oevelgönne (Museum Harbor) - Excellent place to see an assortment of old ships up close. The place is staffed by friendly volunteers and admission costs to the larger boats are nominal.

The history of tourism in Germany goes back to cities and landscapes being visited for education and recreation. From the late 18th century onwards, cities like Dresden, Munich, Weimar and Berlin were major stops on a European Grand tour.
Spas and Seaside resorts on the North and Baltic Sea (e.g. Rugia and Usedom islands, Heiligendamm, Norderney and Sylt islands) particularly developed during the 19th and early 20th century, when major train routes were built to connect the seaside spas to urban centers. An extense bathing and recreation industry materialized in Germany around 1900. At rivers and close to natural landscapes (along the Middle Rhine valley and in Saxon Switzerland for example) many health spas, hotels and recreational facilities were established since the 19th century.
Since the end of World War II tourism has expanded greatly, as many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history and the diverse German landscape. The country features 14 national parks, including the Jasmund National Park, the Vorpommern Lagoon Area National Park, the Müritz National Park, the Wadden Sea National Parks, the Harz National Park, the Hainich National Park, the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the Bavarian Forest National Park and the Berchtesgaden National Park. In addition, there are 14 Biosphere Reserves, as well as 98 nature parks.
The countryside has a pastoral aura, while the bigger cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel. Small and medium-sized cities often preserved their historical appearance and have old towns with remarkable architectural heritage - these are called Altstadt in German.

Some Info on The Berlin Zoo
The Berlin Zoological Garden (German: Zoologischer Garten Berlin) is the oldest and best-known zoo in Germany. Opened in 1844 it covers 35 hectares (86.5 acres) and is located in Berlin's Tiergarten. With about 1,380 different species and over 20,200 animals the zoo presents one of the most comprehensive collection of species in the world.[2][5]
The zoo and its aquarium had more than 3.5 million visitors in 2017.[2] It is the most-visited zoo in Europe and one of the most popular worldwide. Regular animal feedings are among its most famous attractions. Globally known animals like Knut, the polar bear, and Bao Bao, the giant panda have contributed to the zoo's public image.
The zoo collaborates with many universities, research institutes, and other zoos around the world. It maintains and promotes European breeding programs, helps safeguard several endangered species, and participates in several species reintroduction programs.
The Berlin Zoo is the most visited zoo in Europe, with more than 3.3 million visitors per year from all over the world.[2] It is open all year long and can easily be reached by public transportation. The Berlin Zoologischer Garten railway station (also simply known as Zoo) is one of Berlin's most important stations. Several modes of transport such as U-Bahn, S-Bahn and buses are interlinked here. Visitors can either enter the zoo through the exotically designed Elephant Gate beside the aquarium on Budapester Straße or through the Lion Gate on Hardenbergplatz.
The zoo maintains studbooks for black and Indian rhinoceroses and gaurs. The populations of rare deer and pigs are part of several captive breeding projects. Berlin Zoo supports conservationists in other countries (for instance, in Madagascar) and as a partner of the Stiftung Artenschutz [de], a species protection foundation.
Most of the animals are housed in enclosures designed to recreate their natural habitat.
The zoo houses four types of great ape: orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, and bonobos.
The carnivore house displays all big cats and many rare small predators, such as ring-tailed mongooses and narrow-striped mongooses from Madagascar. In the basement, visitors are invited to a view into the world of nocturnal animals.
The bird house presents a walk-through aviary and offers a broad variety of forms, including several regularly breeding species of hornbills and many parrots. Numerous big aviaries show waders, herons and many other species. The Berlin Zoo is one of the few zoos to exhibit tuatara (in the aquarium) and Luzon tarictic hornbills.
