Join as we visit Nuremberg, Germany on a trip to wander around with the aim of doing the best things in Nuremberg. As the second largest city in Bavaria, Nürnberg has a lot offer in terms of castles, museums and unique cuisine worth sampling.
As a very walkable and tourist friendly city you can cover most attractions in Nuremberg in just a day or two making it a perfect weekend retreat.
We honestly arrived without the highest of expectations but we left feeling as though we wanted to spend extra time in Nuremberg.

We started our day by taking the U-bahn to the centre of town and getting off at Lorenzkirche. This put us on the south bank of the Pegnitz River, where we took the opportunity to browse some markets before visiting St Lorenz Church.
This is a beautiful gothic church complete with pointed vaults, stained glass windows, and sculptures.
From there we walked across one of the city’s many bridges and continued on to the Beautiful Fountain (yes, that’s the name), searching for a bit of good luck.
One of Nuremberg’s most famed attractions is the Imperial Castle located in the northwest end of the Old Town. The castle is a testament to the power of the Holy Roman Empire during the middle ages.
And we couldn’t come all the way to Nuremberg and not try the famed Nuremberger sausage! We went to Bratwursthäusle, right in the heart of the Old Town by St Sebaldus Church.
Later that afternoon we went into Nuremberg’s deep underground on a tour of the historic beer cellars. Nuremberg has been a beer brewing city for centuries.
While in town, we also took a walk down Weißgerbergasse, which may just be one of the prettiest streets in Nuremberg. This curved cobbled street is lined with half-timbered houses.
Albrecht Dürer’s one time home is now a museum dedicated to his life and work. He was a German Renaissance artist across many mediums, but he is best known for revolutionizing printmaking and elevating it as an art form. At certain times of day, they offer a guided tour with an actress who plays the role of Agnes Dürer, the artist’s wife.
The bridge we were looking for is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, or the Holy Spirit Hospital. It’s not a bridge in the usual sense of the word, rather a medieval building that sits across part of the Pegnitz River.
On a more serious note, we couldn’t leave Nuremberg without also visiting the Dokuzentrum, also known as the The Documentation Center Nazi Party Rallying Grounds.

Compared to other Canadian cities, Montreal offers world class arts, dining, architecture, entertainment, arts and festivals showcasing the best of Canadian culture and Canadian food. Head to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for a look at some of the free current exhibitions. We're here at Park Mount Royal to walk around and head to the lookout point for amazing city views. We chose to stay in the neighborhood of Le Plateau-Mont Royal. On Sunday afternoons you'll find a huge drumming circle on the east end of Mount Royal called Tam Tams. McGill University is one of the most prestigious universities in all of Canada. Poutine, a French Canadian dish, it is basically french fries with gravy and cheese curds on top. For a taste of French charm, wander down the cobbled streets of Old Montreal. Tonight we're at the Cirque du Soleil for a circus performance. The biodome is a popular attraction for families with children. Olympic Stadium is the former home of the Montreal Expos. The botanical gardens are home to beautiful gardens. Bell Center is home to the Montreal Canadiens, one of the most celebrated NHL franchises. There is no better place ot eat smoked meat in Montreal than Schwartz. The Notre Dame Basilica is located in the historic district of Old Montreal. If you enjoy checking out graffiti around Saint Catherine street which is also a shopping district. Eat St. Viateur bagels, which are really famous here in Montreal. A great way to get around the city is by Bixi bike. Montreal's Old Port is worth a wander. The Harz region is a secret little gem of a destination located in the middle of Germany. It is a place of medieval romantic towns with half-timber red-framed buildings, three UNESCO World Heritage sites, plus old castles, mountains and historic mines.
Dominating it all are the Harz Mountains which rise up from the North German plain and cover an area 100km long and 30km wide, creating a stunning area of peaks, deep valleys, rich forests, lakes and streams.

Join us for this Canadian Rockies travel guide as we explore one of Canada's most beautiful places to visit. The big reason we took a road trip from Ontario to Alberta and British Columbia was to see the Rocky Mountains. For Audrey's parents, especially her Dad, it has been a dream to see this beautiful part of Canada for decades. With a chance to finally do it we were all thrilled to visit the Canadian Rockies together as a family with Togo the German Shepherd. The following is everywhere we visited in and around the Canadian Rockies including most of our time spent in Banff National Park and Kootenay National Park in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia:

Canadian Rockies Travel Guide | Canada's Most Beautiful Place To Visit Video Transcript:
Welcome to the Canadian Rockies! In the last video we showed you the 4-and-a-half day car journey from Ontario, but now it’s time to jump into the sightseeing.
We had 1 full week in the Rockies, splitting our time between both Alberta and British Columbia, and all of our days were spent hiking in woods, visiting the lakes, and just enjoying being surrounded by nature.
This was a family road trip with our trusty family dog Togo in tow, so we’re going to be sharing with you our adventure in what may well be the most beautiful part of Canada!
The Bow River trail is just a few steps from downtown Banff and it follows the riverside.
From there, we walked over to the Banff Springs Hotel. This historic hotel opened up in 1888 it’s one of Canada's grand railway hotels built by the Canadian Pacific Railway. We continued over to Canmore.
From there, we drove over to Lake Minnewanka, which has more of a bluer hue in comparison to the other turquoise and emerald lakes in the Rockies. Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake 21 kilometres in length, making it the 2nd longest lake in the Rockies. It’s a hub for water activity like boat cruises, kayaking, canoeing, and well, it’s beautiful.
Later that day we drove to Moraine Lake, which is another glacially fed lake. It has a brilliant blue-green colour due to light refracting off the rock sediments, and like most destinations in the Rockies, this one was another stunner.
The views from the shore of Lake Louise were nothing short of stunning, we had Victoria Glacier perfectly framed by mountains on either side, and then the brilliant glacial waters with dotted with red canoes.
Our final destination in the Rockies was Kananaskis Country where we visited Lower Kananaskis Lake and Upper Kananaskis Lake.
The real highlight was finally spotting some wildlife just as we were leaving for the day.
And that’s a wrap for our Rockies Road Trip! We still have lots left to see of our home country, but we can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful destinations in all of Canada.
