Laupheim is a major district town in southern Germany in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Laupheim was first mentioned in 778 and gained city rights in 1869. One of the main trading routes, from Ulm to Ravensburg and then on towards Lake Constance ran through Laupheim. Having developed from a rural settlement into a small urban area, Laupheim is home to a number of small to medium-sized industries and businesses. One of the largest employers are the German Armed Forces which maintain an airbase close to Laupheim, Laupheim Air Base. 1. Neuschwanstein Castle Hohenschwangau
Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and in honour of Richard Wagner. Ludwig paid for the palace out of his personal fortune and by means of extensive borrowing, rather than Bavarian public funds. The castle was intended as a home for the king, until he died in 1886. It was open to the public shortly after his death. Since then more than 61 million people have visited Neuschwanstein Castle. More than 1.3 million people visit annually, with as many as 6,000 per day in the summer.

Hohenschwangau Castle or Schloss Hohenschwangau is a 19th-century palace in southern Germany. It was the childhood residence of King Ludwig II of Bavaria and was built by his father, King Maximilian II of Bavaria. It is located in the German village of Hohenschwangau near the town of Füssen, part of the county of Ostallgäu in southwestern Bavaria, Germany, very close to the border with Austria.

Cycling the Donau Bodensee Radweg in Germany - Day 1 Ulm to Biberach

The first day of cycling the Donau-Bodensee Radweg from the city of Ulm to Biberach. My route included a quick stop in the town of Laupheim.
This cycling route is a great way to see the Oberschwaben region of Germany, leaving the River Danube and heading to Lake Constance. You could include it as a side tour if you were cycling the along the River Danube trail, or make it the focus of an enjoyable week long cycling holiday in Germany. STREET VIEW: Innenstadt von Ulm in GERMANY

Wir starten unseren Rundgang durch Ulm mit Blick auf den berühmten Münsterturm. Er ist der höchste auf der Welt und deshalb nur schwer ins Bild zu bekommen. Es geht weiter über den Münsterplatz und einmal um das Münster herum, bevor wir die Umlaufbahn in Richtung Ulmer Rathaus und Marktplatz verlassen. Durch den Metzgerturm gehen wir hinunter bis zum Donauufer mit Blick auf Neu-Ulm. Unter der Metzig und den Weinhof geht es dann in Richtung Fischerviertel. Durch die Fischergasse gehen wir hinunter bis zum Setra-Museum und dann durch die Schwörhausgasse unter der Neuen Straße hindurch in die Lautengasse. Anschließend geht es über die Glöcklergasse in die Hirschstraße zurück auf den Münsterplatz.

STREET VIEW: Blaubeuren und der Blautopf in GERMANY

Wir starten mit unserem Rundgang durch Blaubeuren am Blautopf mit dem blau schimmernden Wasser. Durch die Blautopfstraße gelangen wir in den Klostergarten und von dort über die Mauergasse in die Klosterstraße. Dann geht es weiter durch die Karlstraße. Anschließend geht es durch die Webergasse wieder zurück bis in die Blautopfstraße.
