Neresheim is a town in the Ostalbkreis district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 16 kilometres northeast of Heidenheim, and 20 kilometres southeast of Aalen. It's the home of the Neresheim Abbey, which still hosts monks, was Reichsfrei until the German Mediatisation and was built by Balthasar Neumann. Neresheim is listed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France, along with 95 other sites of battles won by the French army.

Engelberg is a resort town near LUZERN from where you get on to Mt. Titlis in the Swiss Alps. This town offers great panoramic view of the Swiss Alps. The Line from Luzern climbs a mountain with 25% steep gradient till Dec 2010. Now this has been avoided by building a tunnel and now the gradient is only 10.5%.

The Luzern–Stans–Engelberg railway line is a Swiss Meter gauge rack railway that connects Luzern, via Hergiswil and Stans, to the resort of Engelberg. The line was built by the Stansstad–Engelberg Railway which became the Luzern–Stans–Engelberg Railway (German: Luzern–Stans–Engelberg-Bahn, LSE) when the line was extended to Luzern.

Today the line is owned by the Zentralbahn railway company, which also owns the Brünig line. Trains on the Luzern–Stans–Engelberg line use Brünig line tracks to access Luzern from Hergiswil.

Trains on the Luzern–Stans–Engelberg line begin their journey at Luzern Bahnhof, one of Switzerland's principal railway stations which is shared with the standard gauge lines of the Swiss Federal Railways. Shortly after leaving that station, the line enters a tunnel (opened in 2012) which runs under Luzern's southern suburbs as far as Kriens Mattenhof station. From here the line runs to Hergiswil, where the LSE line proper diverges from the Brünig line.
