Johannes Peter Hans Riegel was a German entrepreneur who owned and operated the confectioner Haribo since 1946.Born in Bonn, he was the oldest son of the company's founder Hans Riegel, Sr., who invented the gummy bear in 1922. The name of the company, Haribo, comes from the first two letters of his name and where he was from . After his graduation from the Jesuit boarding school Aloisiuskolleg, he did his doctorate in 1951 at Bonn University with his thesis The development of the world sugar industry during and after the Second World War.In 1953, he was elected first president of the German badminton association after he had won the German championship...

Theme Park Attractions In Riegel

1. Steinwasen Park Oberried
Steinwasen Park is a theme park with a small zoo in the Black Forest, about 20 km southwest of Freiburg im Breisgau. It is located at the mountain pass Notschrei between Kirchzarten and Todtnau. The area belongs to the town of Oberried. Several animal enclosures and fun rides are spread over an area of 35 hectares. The park is integrated into the natural mountain landscape and takes the Black Forest as a central theme. There is, for example, a film about the historic formation of the mountains, as well as a museum showing model replicas of the characteristic Black Forest houses. Steinwasen Park is open from mid March to early November and is particularly attractive for young families.
