Walldorf is a town in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis district in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Walldorf is home to the world's seventh largest software company SAP, and the birthplace of the entrepreneur John Jacob Astor, of the Astor family. The town is referred to, though not actually named, in John le Carré's novel Absolute Friends , much of which is set in Heidelberg.

The Veste Coburg, or Coburg Fortress, is one of Germany's largest castles. It is situated on a hill above the town of Coburg, in the Upper Franconia region of Bavaria.

The Würzburg Residence is a palace in Würzburg, Germany. Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt and Maximilian von Welsch, representatives of the Austrian/South German Baroque style, were involved in the construction, as well as Robert de Cotte and Germain Boffrand, who were followers of the French Style. Balthasar Neumann, court architect of the Bishop of Würzburg, was the principal architect of the Residence, which was commissioned by the Prince-Bishop of Würzburg Johann Philipp Franz von Schönborn and his brother Friedrich Carl von Schönborn in 1720, and completed in 1744. The Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, assisted by his son, Domenico, painted frescoes in the building. The salt trade enriched the town and Italian baroque masters were allowed to create the cityscape of the historic old town. Beginning in Würzburg On The Main, the Romantic Road leads to various well known historic cities, castles and palaces. Between 1642 and the middle of the eighteenth century, three prince-bishops gave the city its Baroque architecture and also the castle known as The Residence. Nuremberg is the ‘secret capital’ of German Franconia and ‘treasure trove of the German Reich’, the epitome of German romanticism and tradition with a long history and also bitter memories of quite recent times. An Imperial City which indeed became the City Of Party Rallies but which has never lost its benevolent spirit. Dresden is the capital of the German free state of Saxony, a major centre of culture with a remarkable history. Although almost completely destroyed at the end of the Second World War and for many years hidden behind the Iron Curtain, today the city shines out in all of its former splendour. Hamburg is a lively metropolis in the north of Germany and for many centuries was a gateway to the world and a work of art with many different faces. Each year on the seventh of May, Harbour Birthday is celebrated when people from all over the world gather within the various galleries of the landing stages to celebrate a huge festival. With its culture and many diverse and beautiful landscapes, Germany is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.
