24 Hours at the Harz Mountains - Germany

We only had 24 hours! It all started with a hike on top of a rocky mountain surrounded only by an endless pine forest and the shiny sunset illuminating us at its best time of the day. Later, a trip through the pine forest led us to the biggest hanging bridge in Europe. The fear of passing through this bridge was nothing compared to the fear of bungee jumping in the middle of it, like Phil did. Hours later we were following by air an old steam train crossing through the huge forest and leaving only a smoke trail on top of the pines. At the end, a 33 degree Celsius mountain hike was well worth the amazing view from the top of the tower showing us a landscape that we'll never forget. This is the story of my most recent video at the Harz Mountains in Germany.

Nuremberg is famous for its small grilled sausages. They are usually served with mustard and sauerkraut. And delicious.

Of course: No trip through Bavaria without a stop at a beer garden. The one at the monastery in Weltenburg is especially pretty. Prost to the monks!

Bavarians love and live their traditions. If you are really lucky like us you end up sitting in the middle of leather trousers and accordions for a Bavarian concert.

“Let’s take that old ship of the Ammersee and put it on a railway bridge!” These young Germans had balls – and are now owning the most unique bar complex in Bavarian’s capital.

The “equator of the Weißwurst” (a typical Bavarian sausage) is a playful description for a (pseudo-)cultural border that separates parts of Bavaria from the rest of Germany.

The UNESCO world heritage site is said to be one of the world’s most impressive baroque castles and well, it is simply beautiful!

The Fuggerei is the world’s oldest social housing complex. Woodbine makes it an especially pretty site in autumn.

The main square of Munich, right in front of the very impressive city hall. Its glockenspiel is very famous. We find it totally overrated.

Among all the German lakes-by-the-mountains, this is the most stunning one! You'll get the best view over Königssee from a lookout called painter's corner.
00:36 Pottenstein, Franconian Switzerland
We love the area around Pottenstein for its wicked towering rock formations. THE Instagram shot would be the half-timbered museum on top of a rock at Tüchersfeld.

The impressive hall of fame honors distinguished people in German history with busts and memorial tablets. Later additions include Martin Luther and Sophie Scholl.

00:43 Markgräfliches Opernhaus, Bayreuth
This must be the most beautiful opera house we have ever visited! The baroque court theatre is also a UNESCO world heritage site.

This quirky little museum is dedicated to the German version of The Muppet Show. Its modern fairy tales are famous nationwide.

The “romantic street” connects some of the most famous tourist destinations: Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Würzburg, Augsburg and Neuschwanstein Castle.

They serve a delicious Pretzel-Schnitzel. They had lots of time to practice. The Guiness Book of Records confirmed it: this is the world’s oldest tavern!

The massive Bavarian Forest with its lush vegetation and peaceful lakes is a paradise for nature lovers.

The old town hall of Bamberg looks like someone glued a half-timbered house to another. It’s the highlight of its historic centre.
Goslar - Weltkulturerbe - Stadtrundgang
Die Weltkulturerbestadt Goslar blickt auf eine mehr als tausendjährige Geschichte zurück. Die Altstadt Goslars ist mit ihren ungefähr 1500 Fachwerkhäusern und dem historischen Erzbergwerk Rammelsberg zu einem sehr interessanten Reiseziel kulturinteressierter Menschen geworden. Beide wurden im Jahr 1992 in die Liste des UNESCO Weltkulturerbes aufgenommen. Zu den Baudenkmälern von nationaler Bedeutung gehören in Goslar die Kaiserpfalz, romanische Kirchenbauten und die Reste der eindrucksvollen Befestigungsanlagen. Darüber hinaus sind das Rathaus, die Gildehäuser, mittelalterliche Hospitäler, Patrizierhäuser und Bergarbeiterhäuser von großer Bedeutung. Das alles wollten wir uns unbedingt einmal ansehen und reisten deshalb in den Harz. Wir möchten Euch nun mit auf einen kleinen Rundgang durch die schöne Stadt Goslar nehmen.
