Frankfurt-Am-Main is the 5th biggest city in Germany and you can’t finish it even if you tried! The airport alone covers 2,000 hectares and has its own train. The city has countless museums, two major botanical gardens, and lots of art and cultural things to see thanks to Goethe’s heritage. The Kleinmarkthalle is a market hall in the old town of Frankfurt am Main . On weekdays, 63 grocers in 156 market stalls on about 1,500 square meters of space [1] fresh food , but also flowers and seeds are offered. In addition to regional specialties, such as the green sauce , today also imported foods are sold. Likewise, some traders operate food stalls in the hall. This makes the Kleinmarkthalle a retail center of importance to the entire Rhine-Main region .
Originally in Frankfurt as well as in other cities the fresh goods were brought by the farmers of the environment into the city and sold on public marketplaces. Numerous traditional street names and squares indicate, for example, the Weckmarkt, the Kornmarkt , the Hühnermarkt and the Roßmarkt . In the old town lived and worked craftsmen to guilds separated, for example, where the butchers in their Schirnen meat and sausages sold.
In the 19th century, the increased demands for hygiene led to demands for regulation of market operations. In 1871, the city council decided to build a municipal market hall on the grounds between Fahrgasse and Hasengasse. It was built in 1877 to 1879 in the then modern style of the Neo-Renaissance under the direction of city council Behnke by the company JS Fries son .
The listed building is now in need of renovation. At the beginning of 2005, the Planning Department suggested demolishing the Kleinmarkthalle and the surrounding buildings from the 1950s and replacing them with a new building. However, the project met with fierce criticism in the Frankfurt public and was therefore withdrawn.

Frankfurt is the business and financial centre of Germany and the largest city in the German state of Hesse. The city is known for its futuristic skyline and the biggest German airport. It is the fifth largest city in Germany after Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Cologne.

Frankfurt is the place where Germany's major autobahns and railways intersect. About 650,000 people commute to the city each day, not counting the 660,000 people who really live here. With a huge airport - the third-largest in Europe - it is the gateway to Germany and for many people also the first point of arrival in Europe. Further, it is a prime hub for interconnections within Europe and for intercontinental flights.
