Love Locks on Bridges in Paris

There is an interesting history behind this. Placing padlocks on bridges, monuments, etc, was popular in cities in Italy and Asia before eventually spreading to Paris.
This video shows three different bridges in Paris filled with padlocks. People still sell padlocks on the bridges even though it's illegal.

The weight of the locks has become a concern and was blamed for the collapse of part of one of the bridges. The government in Paris has tried to encourage tourists not to place locks on the bridges by starting a campaign asking tourists to take selfies on the bridge instead and post them with the hashtag #lovewithoutlocks.
