Listowel is an unincorporated community in Ontario, Canada, located in the Municipality of North Perth. It was created in 1998 during the amalgamation of several other communities in the northern section of Perth County, and the previously incorporated Town of Listowel dissolved with the creation of the Municipality of North Perth. Its population was 7,530 at the Canada 2016 Census in a land area of 6.65 square kilometres; at the time there were 3,159 occupied dwellings.

Pinery Provincial Park is a provincial park located on Lake Huron near Grand Bend, Ontario. It occupies an area of 25.32 square kilometres . It is a natural environment-class Provincial Park created to help preserve oak savannah and the beach dune ecology. It has 1,275 sites of which 404 have electrical hookups. These include the Yurt camping area and the group camping sites. The initial package of land for the park was purchased from the Canada Company in 1957. In 1966, the park saw a 433-acre addition, adding 200 campsites to the park's existing 1,075 to accommodate the growth of the park patronage, which had reached peaks of 1,500 campers per day, causing many to be packed into overflow areas. Sauble Beach is a beach community and unincorporated area in the town of South Bruce Peninsula, Bruce County in the northern area of southwestern Ontario, Canada. It is on the Bruce Peninsula, along the eastern shore of Lake Huron, on the north edge of the Saugeen Nation. The beach takes its name from that given by early French explorers to the sandy Sauble River, originally La Rivière Au Sable also indicating that the river emptied into Lake Huron at a sandy beach. The river was labelled with the French name on maps until 1881, when it became the Sauble River; in early years, a sawmill was built on the river, and later, a hydro electric plant.

Point Farms to Conestogo Lake - Ontario Bike Tour #2 - Day 8 of 10

This video summarizes Day 8 of my 10 day solo bicycle trip along the shores of Lake Simcoe and Lake Huron in Southern Ontario, Canada. All of the clips in the video were filmed on Friday 27, 2018.

I exited Point Farms Provincial Park onto Highway 21 (Blue Water Highway) briefly heading north. I stopped for a quick breakfast at Burdan's Red Cat Farm Bakery. I made a right turn onto Gore Rd and headed east. Gore Rd eventually ends at Nile Rd and I headed South East. Eventually Nile Rd merges with Blyth Rd which took me across the Maitland River heading east. Before reaching the community of Auburn I turned right onto Baseline Rd/Maitland Terrance where I crossed from the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh into the Municipality Central Huron. When I reached Hullett-McKillop Rd I turned left and continued South East. Eventually I crossed into the Municipality of East Huron and made a right turn onto Roxboro Line heading North East. I made a right onto Blyth Rd which took me into the community of Walton where I continued North East on Brussels Line. I passed over the G2G trail (Goderich to Guelph). I stopped for lunch in Brussels at the Jam Jar Pub and Eatery. I made a right turn onto Brandon Rd and headed South East through the community of Ethel. The road curves North East and becomes Molesworth Line. I made a right turn onto Browntown Rd. When I crossed Road 172 I left Huron County and entered North Perth, within Perth County. The name of the road changes to line 81 and I turned left onto Road 169 which took me through the community of Trowbridge. I then turned right onto Line 84 and continued South East until Wallace Ave S where I turned left which took me into the Community of Listowel. I explored up and down Main St then continued NE on Wallace Ave where I stopped at the Food Basics grocery store. I also grabbed a Vanila Chai Ice Frappe from McDonalds across the street. I turned right when I reached Line 87 and headed South East again. Along this road I observed many Mennonite (similar to Amish) farms with families in plain dress and produce for sale with signs saying No Sunday Sales. Eventually I crossed into Wellington County within the Township of Mapletown. The name of the road changes to Concession Rd 3 on the other side of the border. I turned left onto Wellington Rd 11 which took me to the entrance to Conestoga Lake Conservation Area.

Conestogo Lake was created when a flood control dam was built on the Conestogo River in 1958. This river flows into the Grand River, which eventually flows into Lake Erie near Dunnville, ON.

The bike I used for this trip is a New York made Linear Recumbent Bike which I believe is from around 2004. I carried my gear in 2 Giant Waterproof Panniers, and mounted my tent and sleeping pad on the top of the rack.

5 Day Canoe Trip - Barron Canyon | Algonquin Provincial Park, ON

Did a bit more footage and added music to our regular campsite video tours this time.

This is the longest trip we have done and it went very well due to our preparation and experience. It can easily be done by intermediate paddlers/campers or beginners if they have at least one person who is very experienced. Paddling distances aren't too bad but some of the portages are quite difficult due to the terrain. The trip could easily be shortened or made longer by a day or two with only slight adjustments though to suit your preferences.

I highly recommend buying these maps but it is available online for free as well. I bought all 4 of the Algonquin maps and the Killarney one came as part of a deal, and they are great. Extremely detailed and they are waterproof, float, and are durable.

This video features locations we visited while camping our way up the coast from Sydney in New South Wales to Brisbane (and beyond) in Queensland. Our ultimate destination was Lady Elliot Island in the south end of the Great Barrier Reef. (Video here )
