National Aboriginal Addictions Awareness Week - Delaware Nation @ Moraviantown
Here's just a snippet of Huff Media Solutions video documenting NAAAW as it was observed here in Delaware Nation Territory at Moraviantown. Kudos to Val Peters from the Delaware Nation Health Centre, Jess Snake, Mnaasged Child and Family Services (Delaware Site) and everyone else who worked so hard to plan the gatherings and events! Just love the guys from Oneida, brought in by the Velma Noah and the Language/Heritage Department. These guys came in to show us one of our own Thanksgiving songs. I had no idea that our Grandfathers gave many of our songs to the people of the Oneida Longhouse for safe keeping, generations ago. You'll find the the song and dance at the end of the piece. It's so beautiful! Everyone had such a good time that night!!! Enjoy & Anushiik!!! (Thank-you!!)
