Portland, Oregon Travel Guide - Must-See Attractions
Portland is a city located in the U.S. state of Oregon, near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. Portland is Oregon's most populous city, and the third most populous city in the Pacific Northwest region, after Seattle and Vancouver.
The most important places to visit in Portland are: Mount Hood (it's hard to miss this majestic mountain when you're in Portland. Oregon's highest mountain offers plenty of outdoor activities year-round), Oregon Zoo (a great place for family entertainment. The zoo has many beautiful and exotic species), City Hall (the historic renaissance style building is home of the Portland city government), Japanese Garden (situated on a hill overlooking Portland, this magnificently landscaped garden is considered one of the best Japanese gardens outside of Japan), Downtown (Portland has a well-planned, thriving urban center with many great restaurants, wide pedestrian areas and entertainment options) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Portland travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.
Kincardine to Goderich - Ontario Bike Tour #2 - Day 7 of 10
This video summarizes Day 7 of my 10 day solo bicycle trip along the shores of Lake Simcoe and Lake Huron in Southern Ontario, Canada. All of the clips in the video were filmed on Thursday July 26, 2018.
From Kincardine I headed southwest along Huron Terrace, turned right onto Kincardine Ave and followed the shoreline on Goderich St. After crossing the border into Huron-Kinloss, the name of the road changes to Boiler Beach Rd. At Concession Rd 10 I jogged inland and followed Lake Range Dr which took me over the Pine River and through Lurgan Beach.I turned right when I got to Concession Rd 2 and headed South West away from the lake. I eventually turned right onto Sideroad 25, then left onto Amberley Road (County Rd 86). When I got turned right onto Kintain I had then left Bruce County and entered Huron County and the township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. I stayed on this road until I reached Belfast Rd where I turned left. I made a right turn from there onto Kingsbridge Line which I followed until Highway 21 (the Bluewater Highway). After a short stretch on Hwy 21 I turned left onto Glen's Hill Rd, and then right onto Kerry's Line. When I reached Dungannon Rd it was in the process of being paved and I turned left onto it. I made a right onto Cransford Line which I rode until Nile Rd. I continued south on Loyal Line, then West on Gore Rd back to Highway 21. After a short stretch of Highway 21 I was at the entrance to Point Farms Provincial Park.
I selected a campsite within the Colborne Campground and went for a quick swim at the beach. I then got back on the road and headed to Goderich along Highway 21. I passed the Goderich Municipal Airport, a bridge for the G2G (Goderich to Guelph) trail and the Maitland River. At the top of the hill coming into Goderich I turned right onto Gloucester Terrace where I passed the Huron Historic Gaol (Jail). I then I approached the Courthouse Square from North Street. I also went and saw the Lighthouse on Cobourg Street, and down Harbor street to see the beach and Goderich Salt Mine. I ate dinner with family at Park House Restaurant.
Strava for Day 7:
The bike I used for this trip is a New York made Linear Recumbent Bike which I believe is from around 2004. I carried my gear in 2 Giant Waterproof Panniers, and mounted my tent and sleeping pad on the top of the rack.

Winnipeg: A Great Place to Live
This is a promotional video about the city of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. It provides a snapshot of the city in 1996, including sample property prices.
Like any sell job, it's not what they say that matters, it's what they don't, such as snow on the ground for four months of the year, temperatures in the -35C/-31F range (it was -38.5C on December 31, 2013) and mosquitoes in summer. However, it does have many clear blue skies and warm summers, plus housing costs are still lower than many other Canadian cities.
