Camping at Slide Rock State Park, AZ | 10K Road Trip Vlog Day 2
This is Day 2 and 3 of our 10,000 mile road trip across the US and Canada. We camped at Cave Springs, just north of Sedona, AZ and spent two fun days in Slide Rock State Park. It's cold, a little painful, and a lot fun.
---
What's going on here?
We quit our jobs, left New York City, bought a car, and decided to spend the summer driving around the US and Canada. The plan is to hit at least 35 states and 3 provinces and cover more than 10,000 miles. Watch from the beginning here:
Music is royalty free:
Eagle Rock by Wes Hutchinson
The Land of Happiness and Morning Sun by Nicolai Heidlas
Filmed on May 30-31, 2017 on a Canon G7X Mark II and Mark I and a waterproof Olympus Tough.
---
Our Gear:
Canon G7X Mark II: (it’s amazing and basically sees in the dark)
Canon G7X: (the original is almost as good, but less expensive)
Joby Gorillapod: (fantastic versatile bendy tripod – this is the slightly smaller “action” version that’s easier to travel with and comes with a mount for a camera and a gopro)
Macbook Air: (we edit everything on Final Cut Pro on a Macbook Air, which is light and easy to travel with)
External Hard Drive: (the videos are a little too big for the macbook air to handle, so I edit everything off an external hard drive)

Ontario's Prettiest Town: Uniquely Historic Perth
Perth, Ontario. Never heard of it? Well, you're missing out. Voted as the 'prettiest town in the country' Perth is a fabulous spot for a romantic get-away, a quiet weekend away with the family, or a stop-over on a larger tour of Ontario or Canada.
Located on the eastern side of Southern Ontario 83 kms from Ottawa, Perth truly is one of the prettiest towns you'll ever visit. Full of elegant architecture and hospitable locals the city warms your heart and just makes you 'feel good.' Simple and charming, Perth is full of beautiful little restaurants, cafes and B&B's. Time just seems to float by effortlessly in Perth.
But the city has a very playful and cheeky side to it as well. In 2010 Perth held the historic Kilt Run in which 1067 kilt-clad runners (Guinness World Record!) crossed the finish line, including the mayor, John Fennick. An avid sailor, a writer and all around great guy John shouted the GCAT crew lunch and gave us a tour of his town. Like all Pethians John is proud of his town and welcomes all to come and enjoy some time in Perth. Be wary though, he doesn't buy every visitor lunch! ... Enjoy Perth!

12 Ways to Tell You're a Former Disney Cast Member- Confessions of a Theme Park Worker
With thanks to The Odyssey Online, these are 12 ways to recognize someone who has worked at Walt Disney World, and my reactions to each- along with a few admissions of personal guilt.
The animations used in this video were borrowed from the site where I found the list. You can find that original list and site located at
A behind the scenes look at what a former worker at Disney World, Silver Dollar City, and Busch Gardens Florida experienced in his time working at the parks. From driving large safari trucks around live wild animals while cracking one silly joke after another, to spending 5 years as a #PhotoPass photographer at #WaltDisneyWorld and seeing and experiencing all sorts of things, to being a conductor and #trainrobber on the famous Frisco Silver Dollar Line at #SilverDollarCity. With 10 years of working in the parks, there's lots of stories to tell. Here is some of them...
Not only did I work in theme parks for 10 years, I've visited a whole lot of them as well. Here's some stories of great visits, not so great visits, favorites, reviews, and much more.

What Do Employees Do When the Park is Closed? - Confessions of a Theme Park Worker
Not every theme park is open year round. Many of them close for some or all of the winter. What do those employees do? Other jobs in the park? Unemployment? Not get paid? What happens to them? Here's what happened to us at Silver Dollar City.
