We explored the BC from Sept 6 - Sept 28, 2017.
Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We drove to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

Welcome to the village of Port Stanley. With one of the finest stretches of sandy beach on the north shore of Lake Erie, the village is a popular destination for day-trippers and for those who want to stay a little longer.
Port Stanley's uniqueness lies with its natural attractions such as the meandering Kettle Creek and the multitude of leisure boats that dot its banks. Port is home to the largest, north shore, inland federal harbour that attracts impressively large lake vessels. The historical King George VI lift bridge, the oldest in Ontario, located in the centre of town is a must see.
Ride an authentic L. & P.S. railcar, circa 1940, and enjoy a scenic view of Kettle Creek and the surrounding countryside. Great family fun! And please feel free to marvel over the largest perch in the World!
The lights in the theatre dim as an actor walks on stage and the audience falls silent. Only live theatre has the power to enchant and transport you and nowhere is it better represented than at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre! For theatre listings and ticket information visit the theatre website.
Take a stroll through Port and you'll discover lots of treasures... wonderful boutiques, antique shops, furnishings for home & cottage, orchid flowers, art galleries, aquatic plants, imported gifts and quality clothing for the entire family! Most of our businesses are family owned, and offer the utmost in service and friendly hospitality. Most shops are open year round.
Here in Port we know how to eat well! We offer an assortment of palate pleasing menu items that will tempt your taste buds. During our warm weather seasons, many outdoor patios are open, offering a smorgasbord of delicious choices.
Enjoy all the comforts of home while relaxing in Port Stanley's many charming and friendly accommodations. Choose from our Inns, Bed and Breakfasts, or fully equipped cottages - all are within walking distance to restaurants, shops, galleries, nightlife and our two beautiful beaches.
For water enthusiasts, Port is the place to be! Marinas, charters, boat rides of all sorts, swimming and beach volleyball are just a few of the recreational water activities that our natural shoreline provides to our guests.
Leave your stress at home and come relax in the Lake Erie breeze. Warm weather weekends are filled with a festive air. In the winter it is much quieter come and enjoy a little quiet time and let go of your stress.
Port Stanley has a strong artistic community with many galleries and artists studios. Come watch an artist at work or browse through the local potter's shop.
Port Stanley Terminal Rail operates over a scenic seven mile portion of the former London & Port Stanley Railway, between Port Stanley and St Thomas, Ontario. Bring the whole family for a train ride.

Beautiful Port Stanley
This segment is exploring the beautiful village of Port Stanley. Lots of shops, resturants, beaches and pubs to enjoy. This Port has so much to offer it's residents, come join the warmth of the people here all year round. What I enjoy about Port Stanley is the variety of homes to choose from, live on the hill side with great views, be right on the beach where all the action is, or tucked away in one of our quiet neighborhoods. Lots of new home building going on as well. Possibilities are endless. If you are looking to make that move call Carol Thompson today 519-857-9989.

Vancouver Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Vancouver’s breezes carry the scents of nature and aromas of all the urban delights you’d expect from a city regularly voted, “the Worlds most livable”.
The city takes its name from the British navigator who landed here in 1792. The original settlement was called “Gastown”, in honor of Gassy Jack, who built the city’s first tavern. Gassy Jack and his makeshift pub may be long gone, but in the historic neighborhood of Gastown, his spirit lingers on.
Vancouver’s early history continues at Waterfront Station, the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The railway’s construction brought Chinese workers by the thousands, whose descendants have enriched Vancouver ever since. Experience this interweaving of cultures in Chinatown, where the fusing of Oriental flavors with local seafood has helped earn the city the title, “the Culinary Capital of Canada.”
After visiting Vancouver’s central highlights, ride the ferry to Granville Island. Stock up on provisions at the Granville Island Public Market and sample craft ales at Granville Island Brewing. From Granville Island, head to Queen Elizabeth Park on Little Mountain, a peaceful oasis high above the city.
When it’s time to answer the call of the wild, cross the Lions Gate Bridge to The North Shore, a wilderness where bears roam and salmon-filled rivers flow through old-growth forests. Less than a two-hour drive from the city is Whistler Blackcomb Resort, the largest ski resort in North America. The beautifully connected runs here cater to all skill levels and attract elite skiers and beginners from all over the globe.
