Kid Friendly Restaurants in San Francisco
Kid Friendly Restaurants in San Francisco - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats.
Here are some of my favorite kid-friendly restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area. The first place to start is in Sausalito at a wonderful restaurant called Fish. It is located just north of San Francisco, and the restaurant is right on the water, so you are ride by all of the boats and you can sit out on picnic benches, and they have the most amazing seafood. They also have, if your children do not like fish, they also have pasta and other items, as well. But the food is amazing, sitting out and watching the boats could not be more fun for the kids, and with the outdoor dining, the kids can run around a little bit, and everyone can enjoy the sunshine and have a great afternoon. The one little tip about Fish is it is cash only, so be sure to bring some cash and not just your credit card.
My favorite place to eat with my son is the Ferry Building. There are so many different options there that he is certain to find something that he loves every time. Again, we like to eat outside. We can walk right outside the Ferry Building - he can watch the boats, he can check out the bridge, there is so much for them to see. So again they can enjoy a great meal and they can enjoy all that San Francisco has to offer with the beautiful water and the bay front there.
Heading down south from San Francisco, probably my favorite spot to take my son to eat, is called Bucks. It is located in Woodside. When you step inside of Bucks, you step into another world. Every inch of the walls and the ceiling is covered with so many different objects - I cannot even really describe it. It is almost like a museum. There is just so much cool stuff for the kids to look at everywhere. They can go on scavenger hunts. Bucks has a great history because a lot of really big Silicon Valley deals were made at Bucks, and when you actually go there, it is not a formal, kind of business restaurant at all. It is incredibly kid-friendly, great food for the kids, and a great atmosphere, a great staff. It is a really special place, and everyone I have sent there has absolutely loved it.
In that same area, in Silicon Valley, there is a great little cafe at the Stanford Museum. It is kind of a hidden gem in there where you can get great items to eat and again, I love eating outside with my son, and the museum cafe is right adjacent to a wonderful grass area so the kids can run around after they eat and you can enjoy your lemonade outside, and it is also right next to the Rodeo Sculpture Garden so the kids can run around, look at the art, touch the art, and enjoy a great sandwich, salads, and wonderful treats at the cafe there at the Stanford Museum.
A little bit farther south, just about an hour south of San Francisco, is the Los Gatos Farmers' Market, which is held every Sunday. It is the best place for Sunday brunch. We go there all the time. What is great about the Farmer's Market is, like most farmers' markets, there is obviously lots of yummy fruits and vegetables that you can pick up. There is also the famous crepe maker who is there, wonderful Mexican food you can get. If you prefer to get a bagel or something like that, the nearby cafes, you can pick those items up.
And then the farmers' market is located right next to a little park that has fountains where the kids can play in the fountains, you can do a wonderful picnic, and it is a real gathering spot for families in Silicon Valley on Sundays, so grab your picnic blanket, bring the kids, and come on down. What is great about it is it is all year round, so you do not have to wait for certain parts of the year to come down. So come down any Sunday and join us. I hope you enjoy eating with your kids all over the San Francisco Bay area.
cTv RV Life - Enjoy secrets of California State Capitol in Sacramento
On our return trips from the Sierras, we dropped by our California State Capitol located at Sacramento (last of 6 locations over 150 years). Outside, the memorial ground dedications and Vietnam statuary are beyond description and inside, be sure to check out the library. We also enjoyed the memorial commemorating Father Junipero Serra who led the quest to support native indigenous Americans with California Missions. In a future video we will highlight the 58 marquee displays featuring interesting tidbids for each of our California Counties.
Luxury Spas in California
Top 5 Luxury Spas Around the World - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats.
Hi, I am Alisa Lewis from Sweet Peas & Stilettos. There are so many great luxury spas throughout California. Some of my favorites will take you up and down the coast.
Starting up in the wine country at the Spa Solage in Calistoga, it is a wonderful, kind of modern, hip hotel and spa. One of my favorite things about it is once you have finished your treatment, you can spend the day out at their lovely pool and order their most delicious snacks. The restaurant has a Michelin Stars, so you can imagine how good the food is. They have mud baths, yoga classes. It is a really great way to unwind from a day at the wine country.
When you are heading down the coast a little bit, be sure to stop at Menlo Park at the Sun Spa at the Rosewood Hotel. It is one of the most tranquil and beautiful and relaxing spas I have been to. What is really interesting about it is it is located on Sand Hill Road, which is known for the biggest, most powerful venture capital firms in the whole, entire world. And just steps away from all of that is a really, really beautiful, tranquil spa at the Sun Spa. Again, they have a lovely terrace where you can go out and enjoy a nice little lunch or an afternoon snack after your treatments and your day of tranquility.
Then what I would do is head back on the freeway, go down the 101, and get yourself to Santa Barbara. My ultimate favorite place, in all of California, is the Biltmore Hotel in Monte Cito. They have a spa that has been renovated in the last few years that is utterly breathtaking. It is not a really large spa, but it is right across the water from the Pacific Ocean. What I recommend doing is keeping the doors open of your treatment room so you can actually look out to the ocean. You can have the Pacific breeze coming into your room. You can hear the waves crashing. They also have a lot of treatment rooms with fireplaces, which is also a nice little treat, to have the fire going while you are getting your massage.
Then your next stop, get back on the freeway and head down to Del Mar. Del Mar is a great little town right above San Diego, and at the St. Regis hotel they have an incredibly decadent spa. This is a place for ultimate kind of grandeur and luxury. They really focus on total body wellness. So, you can use their workout facility, you can swim laps, you can work out with a personal trainer, and then you can enjoy an amazing afternoon of spa treatments. And, of course, you wil want to go out on their terrace and look out at their beautiful view, too, of the ocean.
And then, right nearby, is another great place, the L'Auberge Hotel in Del Mar. What I love about the L'Auberge is their spa is a little bit different, because it looks like a beach shack almost, but a really, really beautiful beach shack. But, there is fun surfing posters on the walls, and surfboards, and really kind of that perfect California casual elegance. Again, a breathtaking view. After your treatment you have to go to their lobby. They have this gorgeous, gorgeous view of the ocean. It is a really beautiful place and you can have a nice glass of wine and some afternoon snacks. It is a perfect way to cap off a perfect California day.
