Alta Loma is one of three unincorporated areas that became part of the city of Rancho Cucamonga, California, United States in 1977. The community is located at 34.15°N 117.60°W / 34.15; -117.60 in the foothills of the south face of the San Gabriel Mountain range, near Cucamonga Peak and Mount San Antonio . Its ZIP codes are 91701 and 91737. Elevation ranges from 1,400 feet to 3,000 feet . The name comes from the Spanish words for high hill. Alta Loma had previously been known as Iamosa.

Sam Maloof was a furniture designer and woodworker, the first craftsman to receive a MacArthur fellowship. Maloof's work is in the collections of several major American museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He was described by the N.Y. Times as a central figure in the postwar American crafts movement.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is the presidential library and final resting place of Ronald Wilson Reagan, the 40th President of the United States , and his wife Nancy Reagan. Designed by Hugh Stubbins and Associates, the library is in Simi Valley, California, about 40 miles northwest of Downtown Los Angeles and 15 miles west of Chatsworth. The Reagan Library is the largest of the 13 federally operated presidential libraries. The street address, 40 Presidential Drive, is numbered in honor of Reagan's place as the 40th President.
