A snow hike can be a great outdoor activity that is challenging, rewarding and a way to see nature with new eyes. Just be well prepared! So pay attention to my winter hiking tips.
Funny that I am giving you beginner winter hiking tips when I arrived unprepared myself but it was a change of plans that lead me to the Gault Nature Reserve of McGill University on Mont Saint-Hilaire, the first Canadian site to be named a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Some tips are:
- bring water, you will sweat a lot
- get crampons for your boots
- dress in layers
- get kinking polls
- take a trail map with you and look out for trail signs as it can be easy to get lost in snow.
If you are looking for a snow hike near Montreal Quebec, this would be my no1 recommendation.

Discover is culture! From 1832 to 1937, Grosse Île and the Irish Memorial National Historic Site served as a quarantine station for the Port of Québec, the main getaway for immigrants into Canada. This island witnessed momentous events, such as the typhus epidemic, which claimed the lives of thousands of Irish immigrants in 1847. Meet many period figures who will tell you about the daily lives of the employees and immigrants residing in the quarantine station. Experience what the immigrants felt when they entered the disinfection building and learn about medicine and immigration in the 19th and 20th centuries. Walk or hop on the tourist trolley to the central part of the island to visit the village where the quarantine station employees lived. Continue your tour toward the hospital sector on the island's most eastern point to visit the Lazaretto, which bore witness to the tragic events of 1847.

EXPLORING QUEBEC
Hey Guys,
Welcome back to our channel! We know we haven't been posting too often & that's because we moved!
We have been super busy trying to find jobs etc!
We decided to upload this vlog showing you around Gatineau Park, Quebec, Canada.
The first hike we did was called the McKenzie King Trail and the second was called Pink Lake Trail.
Both hikes took about an hour and were pretty easy to accomplish!

Washroom Troubles in Quebec City (Van Life)
Going to Montreal, Canada? Make sure to also hit Quebec City! It's about 3 hours away and totally worth it. Our favorite part was the old city section, very historic and breathtaking.
We took a Montreal Bus Tour to see the major highlights of the city, and were very glad we did. Montreal is huge, and a bus tour is a great way to go to get an overall feel for it, and see where things are at.

On 7/31/2016, I hiked my 300th different mountain, 2,851 ft (869 m) Mont Hereford in southern Québec, approx. 12 km north of the border from Canaan, VT. Despite the modest height of the mountain and the mellowness of the hike, it was surprisingly and pleasantly scenic...
À 2016-07-31, J'ai fait ma 300e montagne differente, le mont Hereford, (alt. 869 m/2,851 ft) dans la sud du Québec, approximativement 12 km au nord de la frontière de la ville de Canaan, Vermont. Malgré l'altitude modeste de la montagne et la marche moelleux, il est étonnamment et agréablement pittoresque...

Nous sommes ici pour cette evenement, le 150 ieme anniversaire du Canada. Et oui nos 2 cameras en pleine action, et certain nous somme la pour les environ 250 vieux voiliers de partout de la planete, et on profite aussi du vieux Quebec de ce que cette petite ville offre.
