Natashquan is a township municipality and village in Minganie Regional County Municipality, Côte-Nord region, Quebec, Canada. It should not be confused with the adjacent but separate Innu reserve of Natashquan. The township is named after the Natashquan River, which had already been mapped and named in the 17th century. Rimouski

Rimouski is a Canadian city located in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec at the mouth of the Rimouski River. It has a population of 46,860 and many tourist, cultural and industrial attractions.

Rimouski is the site of Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), the Cégep de Rimouski (which includes the Institut maritime du Québec) and the Music Conservatory. It is also the home of some ocean sciences research centres.

United Express Beech 1900 Takeoff from FLL on 9L

United Express (Silver Airways) flight 4044 departs the Ft. Lauderdale Int'l Airport on RWY 9L (which is now 10L) for a quick flight to the Grand Bahama Freeport Int'l Airport. Silver Airways no longer operates the Beechcraft 1900 to their Florida/Bahamas destinations as all routes have been replaced by the Saab 340. Riviere du Loup

We crossed over the St Lawrence to Riviere du Loup, where we stayed in the excellent Youth Hostel. We had planned to stay two nights but ended up staying four. It was a pleasant town and great accommodation.

The whale trip was a disappointment. We saw very small glimpses of the beluga whales and had one look at a baby hump back that surfaced briefly for air. No time to film any of them. At least we have the movies from Newfoundland where we had a much more successful whale-watching cruise.
