Palo Alto, California
Palo Alto is a California charter city located in the northwest corner of Santa Clara County, in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. The city shares its borders with East Palo Alto, Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Stanford, Portola Valley, and Menlo Park. It is named after a tree called El Palo Alto. San Diego has several distinctive shopping areas. Typical Californian gifts range from T-shirts (a Southern Californian favourite) to expensive artwork from one of the area's many art galleries. A bottle of California wine is always a popular choice.
Key areas:
Hillcrest is where visitors can find local grocery stores and funky gift shops. Babette Schwartz, 421 University Avenue, specialises in 'Californian' gifts and personal items. Little Italy, Downtown, offers a tasteful selection of shops that are focused around Mediterranean cooking and culture.
San Diego, like most Californian cities, has a wide range of supermarkets and speciality food stores. Ralphs and Vons are only two of the major markets and are located conveniently in most residential districts. Both are generally open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Alternative grocers including Trader Joe's, Henry's and Baron's have a wide range of gourmet produce, cheese and wines.

There are a number of farmers' markets scattered across San Diego County. Among the most popular is in Ocean Beach, where Newport Avenue is closed to traffic on Wednesday 1600-2000, when vendors sell everything from organic veggies and bundles of flowers to incense and tie-dyed T-shirts.

Built to take advantage of Southern California's sunny weather, Horton Plaza, at Fourth Avenue and F Street, Downtown, is one of San Diego's more compact shopping malls, with a bright, airy interior that is built in multiple levels and designed for easy accessibility. Fashion Valley, 7007 Friars Road, features many upscale shops including Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Burberry and Bose.
San Diego is a book-lover's paradise with several excellent specialist bookshops. Oldest and largest is Wahrenbrock's Book House, 726 Broadway, which has been dubbed the grandmother of all bookshops. Three storeys packed with second-hand and new books on all kinds of topics should keep any bibliophile happy for hours. D.G. Wills, 7461 Girard Avenue in La Jolla is popular with scholars from nearby universities. Southern California's New Age vibe thrives at Controversial Bookstore, 3063 University Avenue.

Sales tax stands at 7.75% in San Diego. There are duty-free stores located in San Ysidro, directly south of San Diego, via I-5, at the US-Mexican border. These stores are tremendously popular and offer a wide selection of products for reduced prices. California sales tax is non-refundable.

San José is the third-largest city in California, and the tenth-largest in the United States. San Jose is located at the southern end of the Bay Area, a region commonly referred to as Silicon Valley and is now the largest city in Northern California. The United States Census Bureau estimates the city's population to be 939,899, and the Metropolitan area to contain approximately 1.8 million residents.

The Winchester Mystery House is a well-known California mansion that was under construction continuously for 38 years, and is reported to be haunted. It once was the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of gun magnate William Wirt Winchester, but is now a tourist attraction. Under Winchester's day-to-day guidance, its from-the-ground-up construction proceeded around-the-clock, without interruption, from 1884 until her death on September 5, 1922, at which time work immediately ceased. The mansion is renowned for its size and utter lack of any master building plan. According to popular belief, Winchester thought the house was haunted by the ghosts of individuals killed by Winchester rifles, and that only continuous construction would appease them. It is located at 525 South Winchester Blvd.

California to New York: A Complete Road Trip
This is a complete road trip compilation from Santa Monica, California to New York City over eight different days from June-September, 2017 - all recorded in time-lapse at 4fps (nearly 100,000 frames total). Of the 3,253 miles (5,235 kilometers) driven, about 3 miles of this drive is missing, mostly in Colorado near Poncha Springs. Nearly all of this drive was done in daytime, but there is about 10 minutes of this video done in darkness in Arizona (about 1:00:00 to 1:10:00). The weather was good for the most part, except from Pennsylvania all the way to the Bronx, before clearing up in Manhattan. This trip also includes driving through the solar eclipse of August 21 in Nebraska (at about 3:30:00), as well as driving over the old Tappan Zee Bridge in upstate NY, which permanently closed a month later with the opening of the new Mario M Cuomo Bridge adjacent to it.

Mountain View, California
The City of Mountain View began as stagecoach stop on the route connecting the Port of San Francisco and the new State Capitol in San Jose. Covered in lush orchards and magnificent vineyards the town became an agricultural boomtown in the late 1800's. The town was incorporated in 1902 with a population of 611. Post World War II, the City's population exploded with the growth of the electronic and aerospace industries but Mountain View remained predominantly agricultural through the 1940's, 1950's, and the 1960's. Contemporary Mountain View has seen itself transformed from an agricultural-focused town into a high-tech center located in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Today the City of Mountain View covers 12 square miles and is home to just under 74,000 residents. Located 10 miles north of San Jose and 35 miles south of San Francisco. Mountain View is perfectly situated between the Santa Cruz Mountains and the San Francisco Bay. San Jose International Airport is located 11 miles to the south, and San Francisco International Airport is located 25 miles to the north.

Home Décor Shopping in San Francisco

The San Francisco Bay area is a wonderful place to shop for unique home items and home decor. My favorite place in all of the Bay area is Lulu Palm which is located in Loscatos. It is a perfect combination of one of a kind antiques and modern home furnishings. They have everything from furniture to lighting to wonderful pieces of artwork. You will find everything you want and they also offer designing services as well. It is really magical every time I walk in there, I love all the glitter and the feathers and the really unique combination of items that they carry.
Another great place in Loscatos is called Frank and you might miss Frank because it is just a little sliver of a shop that is right next to the Bank of America parking lot of all places and it has the most amazing collection of outdoor, kind of funky antiques and items that you will want for your garden and home. The combination of recycled products and antiques and just a really really funky shop that it is a great place to check out.
Up the Bay area a little bit up in San Francisco and in Berkley is The Gardener. They have a San Francisco location at the Ferry Building, but they are best location I have to say is over on 4th street and Berkley. The Gardener has a beautiful collection of home gifts, items, unique items, as well as some furniture. My friend got some tables there that are basically like works of art so definitely check out the Gardener on 4th street and while you are at 4th street there are so many wonderful shops there that a lot of people do not know about. So definitely check out 4th street and Berkley.
In San Francisco there is a great shop on Polk street called Homey, the woman who started it, Michelle Homey, luckily has a name that is very similar to home so it is kind of a unique place. She has a gorgeous collection of really interesting one of a kind pieces and antiques for your home. So it is a definitely must stop place there on Polk street in San Francisco.
Then when you head over the Golden Gate Bridge definitely go to San an Somo if you are a fan of antiques. They are known for their wonderful collection of antique stores. Two of my favorites are Antique Legacy and Yankee Girl Antiques right there on Sir Francis strip Boulevard in San an Somo, you will not be disappointed from the amazing collection that you will find there. So grab your car and your credit cards and go shopping for wonderful home decor in the San Francisco Bay area.
