4. Bald Rock National ParkTenterfield Bald Rock National Park is a national park in northern New South Wales, Australia, just north of Tenterfield on the Queensland border. The border passes over the rock on the Western side. On the other side of the border national park continues as the Girraween National Park. The park is named after its most prominent feature, Bald Rock, which is a large granite outcrop rising about 200 metres above the surrounding landscape. Measuring about 750 metres long and 500 metres wide this is the largest granite monolith in Australia. Access to the rock is provided by a sealed road into the park and walking tracks to the summit. 151. The Glen, Uralla NSW
The Glen at Uralla in NSW is a 48 hour Free camp rest area, just 85kms north of Tamworth and approx 20kms south of Armidale. A great spot, we were the only ones there the night of our stay. Toilets and Water are available in the Rotary Park opposite the Rest area. It is close to the Highway and does have some truck noise. It is pet friendly and there's a off leash dog park behind it. We had excellent coverage with Telstra, Vodafone and Optus. The cost to stay is Free Our stay was 9-10th October 2017.

The principal minerals extracted were cassiterite (tin), and wolframite (tungsten) and there are literally hundreds of old mines and prospects in and around the Mole Tableland, where Torrington is located. These photos have been copied from old NSW Mines Department reports, dating from around 1900-1920.
