Cooma is a town in the south of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 114 kilometres south of the national capital, Canberra, via the Monaro Highway. It is also on the Snowy Mountains Highway, connecting Bega with the Riverina. At the 2016 census, Cooma had a population of 6,742. Cooma is the main town of the Monaro region. It was designed by the Snowy Hydro Electric Authority and built from 1830 to 1973 by the Authority. It is also known as Old Adaminaby and Lake Eucumbene, including relics and movable objects, Eucumbene River, Eucumbene Valley, Old Adaminaby Remains, Old Adaminaby Ruins and Old Adaminaby Drowned Landscape. The property is owned by Snowy Hydro Limited, a statutory corporation owned by the governments of Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. The site was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 3 June 2008.

Australian Landscape in Sheep Country, Snowy Mountains, NSW

I'm in sheep country, Snowy Mountains near Cooma with winter snow disappearing rapidly from the horizon. I posted a video recently of the Aussie outback from 40,000 feet, this time I'm feet on the ground, showing the vastness of our land they call Australia.There are not many houses around here and the properties can be quite large. The climate and landscape are ideal for wool growing, something that made Australia what it is today. Also check out the country style letter boxes where mail is delivered by 4WD to the roadside of each property.

Noojee Trestle Bridge Visual Tour (Gippsland, Victoria, Australia)

Just west of Noojee (100km’s From Melbourne) is the historic Noojee trestle bridge which was originally built in 1919 as part of a railway used to freight timber out of the district. Originally one of seven bridges of the type it is now the only one remaining due to various Bush fires over the years.
The 100 metre long bridge has been restored and is the highest example of its type in Victoria allowing visitors to walk across the entire span. A series of steps lead from the car park at the base of the bridge to the top where a walking and cycling trail has been constructed along the former railway line called the Noojee Trestle Bridge Rail Trail.
