Melbourne Day Trips: Wilson's Prom
During my four months in Australia, I took five day trips to popular destination outside of Melbourne. Out of the five, I definitely saw the most wildlife (wombats and kangaroos!) at Wilsons Prom. No trip to Australia would be complete without kangaroos, so if you are heading “down under”, I strongly suggest you check out Wilsons Prom!

Mount Oberon Summit Walk Wilsons Promontory National Park - Great Bush Walks
I hike the Mount Oberon Summit Walk in Wilsons Promontory National Park, Victoria. It is a 3.4km 1 hour bushwalk to the summit. It offers 360 degree views of the surrounding national park. The southernmost point of mainland Australia can be seen in the distance.

Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Melbourne
The Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne are internationally renowned botanical gardens located near the centre of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on the south bank of the Yarra River. They are 38 hectares (94 acres) of landscaped gardens consisting of a mix of native and exotic vegetation including over 10,000 individual species.
The Royal Botanic Gardens have a second division in the outer Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne, some 45 km south-east of the city. The 363 hectare (897 acres) Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne have a focus solely on Australian native plants, and feature an award-winning special section called the Australian Garden, which was opened in May 2006.
The Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne are adjacent to a larger group of parklands directly south-east of the city, between St. Kilda Road and the Yarra River known as the Domain Parklands.
These gardens were bestowed the title of “Royal” by none other than Queen Elizabeth II in 1958, and rightfully so — they’re home to 31 plant collections, the award-winning Australian Garden, and they’re free to enter. While you’re there, don’t miss the Melbourne Observatory, which is open for night tours.

Top 10 Best Paid Sailing Channels: La Vagabonde, SSL, Wynns, Delos, RAN, Gecko, Uma, & More
This video ranks the top ten highest paid sailing channels based on my estimates of their Patreon and AdSense revenues from their channels. 9 of the 10 were vloggers. All channels incur expenses such as buying and replacing camera and computer gear to keep the pipeline of videos flowing. Only two channels made six figures. The highest paid channels did not necessarily have the most subscribers. My recent study looked at 444 sailing YouTube channels. Thus, the other 98 percent of channels made less than the top 10 from Patreon and AdSense.
I assumed that their average patron paid for 32 videos per year, and the channels made $1.50 per 1,000 views on Adsense. My estimates could be way off if either one of those estimates was off for any particular channel. Advertising revenues vary greatly based on a lot of factors. Not all public pledges are the same on Patreon because patrons can limit the number of times they are charged per month. Nevertheless, this assumption for Patreon was in line with the 2016 Patreon blog reported earnings for Sailing SV Delos and Sailing La Vagabonde.

The channels' Patreon revenues were based on the public Patreon pledges and the annual views reported by Socialblade.com. The revenue estimates are guesses and could be significantly higher or lower.
