Free Camping in the mighty Murray
The Murray River is 2,530 km long
The River Murray rises near Mount Kosciuszko in the Australian Alps and flows 2,530 km to the Southern Ocean, near Goolwa in South Australia. This snapshot covers the upper part of the Murray catchment from Howlong to the river's headwaters at Lake Mulwala, near Yarrawonga .
There are 100's of free camping spots along the river, so this just shows a few.

The Murray River is the third longest navigable river in the world.
The Murray River is navigable from the Hume Dam, near Albury (NSW) to Lake Alexandrina (SA).
The Murray River is about seven times longer than the Thames.
The world's largest River Red Gum forest grows on the banks of the Murray River.
The Murray River is more than 60 million years old.
Indiginous Australians have lived in the Murray River valley for at least 40,000 years.
The Murray River was named after Colonial Secretary Sir George Murray.
The Murray–Darling Basin is home to 2 million people.
The natural flow out of the Murray River Mouth was about 12,000 gigalitres of water per year.
Only 4% of the rainfall in the Murray-Darling Basin arrives at the Murray River Mouth and flows into the sea.

162. Jugiong Memorial and Recreation Park, Jugiong NSW
We stopped into Jugiong for fuel as it was up to 12c cheaper than others in the area and stayed for lunch at this great campground.
There is so much space and room to park, either in the shade or in the sun.
It is located beside the river offering an opportunity to do some fishing. There is a winery opposite too.
There are toilets, plenty of water taps, bins plus a dump point.
There is a Pool complex directly beside the campground.
The Park has plenty of BBQ's and covered seating.
It is Pet friendly.
We had good Telstra, Vodafone and Optus coverage.
We didn't stay here, just dropped in for some lunch.
The Cost to stay is Free however there is a donation box to collect funds for upkeep to the grounds.

Driving Time Lapse: Canberra to Jervis Bay via Nerriga
Time lapse video of the drive to Jervis Bay from Canberra via Tarago / Nerriga route.
Ever since the road upgrade of Main Rd 92, this is now the quickest in time and shortest in distance.
Ignore the Google time estimator. On average it's about 2 and half hours.
There is still about 7 km's of gravel road on the Turpentine Rd, but you can head toward Albatross and take the BTU Rd which will add a little more time. Then just take Jervis Bay Rd.
